I would not recommend this school to other parents. During my son's 2nd grade year, he experienced bullying that caused significant stress and anxiety. Despite bringing our concerns to the school's attention, we did not feel that adequate action was taken to protect him or resolve the situation.
A school should provide a safe and supportive environment for every child, and unfortunately that was not our experience. After repeated concerns and disappointment with how the issue was handled, we made the decision to remove our son and enroll him in a private school.
Parents deserve to know that when serious concerns such as bullying arise, they need a school that will respond effectively and prioritize student well-being. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this school and would advise parents to carefully consider other options before enrolling their children.

Like every school, it depends so much if parent involvement and community support. The teachers communicate well and help the kids love school. If you have tremendous school spirit, this is a good fit for you as they have a lot of activities. If you want only academic and discipline environment go to charter. This schools has a collegiate spirit like many private schools and raise well rounded individuals. If theres something you dont like, join the PLT and make the change ! Volunteers are always welcomed and the teachers all have 20+ years of experience and many have master degrees.

This is an update about my daughter (with Autism) that attended Goolsby for 3 years...we moved out of state and she has attended a specific school for kids with learning disabilities and is on track now with her neurotypical age group and at 16 years old now has a GPA of 4.0! This is the little girl that was left behind and basically babysat while at this school...all the meetings and paperwork such a lengthy farce she now has self esteem and is looking for a Summer job..basically saying please help the kids with ASD they may be our future leaders!!

When I volunteered I witnessed on more than one occasion the same white teacher being mean to children of color. I complained and nothing was done. We switched schools after that.

I don't like the way I send my child to school with nice clothes on and the other student steal my child clothing in his class. There ate alot of bullies at this school and the staff and teachers do nothing about it.The teachers should make sure all the students have on there belongings before releasing the students. This school is not nice at all.

This school not good for kids with learning disabilities had an awful time with admin and a counselor asking personal medical information about my child and then disbelieving and challenging me actually was required to bring proof in a signed note from their Doctor even though an IEP was in place?!! Nothing was followed on the IEP and my child was just basically babysat at school for 3 years....oh and the constant pressure from fundraising events way too many!

We transferred to Goolsby at the start of grade 3. My son came from a top ranked school on the other side of the valley and I will admit I was nervous to make the change even though Goolsby was also highly ranked. We immediately felt welcomed at Goolsby and my child's attitude about school changed completely. My ordinarily reserved son who needed to be pushed to talk about his school day was suddenly eager to learn and excited to tell me all about school over dinner. His 3rd grade teacher encouraged him to read and turned him onto a series that he loved. The PE teacher made the start of every school day positive and fun at morning line up. My son would say 4th grade was his favorite because he adored his teacher Mr. Claire. Mr Claire just seemed to understand and connect with him in a way that my son really appreciated. He also really enjoyed Mrs. Millich the GATE teacher. While our last year was disrupted by Covid, I felt the school handled it as best they could and we still ended elementary school on a high note. If you're zoned for this school, you are very lucky. It's a good one!

Couldnt ask for a better public school especially in this town. The teachers at Goolsby are really passionate about teaching and genuinely care. I feel fortunate to have both my kids enrolled at Goolsby and have enjoyed being an avid parent volunteer for this school.

Strong focus and emphasis on school fundraising.
Poor teacher/parent communication. Lack of support and concern for student's emotional wellbeing. Growth mindset methods are a so-so.

We moved here from Loudoun County Virginia, top schools in the nation. Weve had an excellent experience here at Goolsby Elementry. My child has been attending for four years going on the fifth. The office ladies are great, and all the specials teachers are really great as well. Weve had a good experience with the grade teachers too.I love that the school encourage his kindness.

A lot of it is busywork, my child who is an above average student still spends a lot of time on homework every night. A lot of it is repetitive especially in math.

I love this school! I actually purchased a home just to be zoned for it! My son is going into the third grade. This will be our forth year here. Only had 1 very grumpy teacher but she retired luckily so you could tell she was burned out! I highly recommend Ms. Douglas... she was my son's second grade teacher! Hands down my favorite! Mrs. Jacobson and Mrs. Kinkead were my sons' kinder teachers and we all adored them both as well! My son has adhd and a IEP.. even with that set back he has a big support system within this school! The ladies in front have always been very nice! My son actually got chosen for a charter school and I declined because his experience at this school is wonderful. Yes it's a public school but parents are more hands on and the teachers for the most part seem very passionate!
I am Vegas born and raised... grew up on the east side (George E Harris) awful school, high poverty :( my very blessed that my son has had the opportunities that this school has given him! My daughter will be going here in a few years as well!
Also like to add the school counselor Mrs. Tally is wonderful! My son has talked to her many many times over the past 3 years shes great!

I can't stop listing how good this school is. I have two boys went to this school and it's been such a wonderful time for both my boys and me. My boy's teacher, Kindergarten Mrs. B, Ms. L, 1st grade Mrs. F, PE, music and Art teachers, and office staff Mrs. S. Every one of them is loving, caring, patient and offer walking extra miles with you. My boys were happy and thrived there both in academic and in character. I would like to use this opportunity to express my appreciation and we really miss them.

Great teachers, staff and campus. Amazing Library! Principal runs it like I remember elementary school being, not all politically correct with no hugs & no holidays. Our kids wear costumes on Halloween and celebrate EVERYTHING. They catch kids being good and reward them. Say the pledge outside in the sunshine. Instill strong morals & character traits and recognize kids for demonstrating them. I'm more than welcome to have lunch with my kid unannounced, stop by for recess or hang out and help in class whenever I can. I couldn't love a public school more. These guys are doing right!!

My daughter has been going to Goolsby since 1st grade. She is now in 3rd. The teachers and staff at this school are spectacular. Everyone is so helpful and involved. I'm going to be really sad the day she's done here. Great experience all around. My daughter has excelled significantly since starting out here. Shes made some great friends and went from being really shy and introvert to outgoing and involved. Wonderful school!

Homework is given every night. Depending on the teacher it could be given at the beginning of the week for the entire week. It is nice because examples and workbooks are brought home to see what the children have been working on before starting homework.

Great school, all teachers have wonderful mindset when it comes to teaching style! They are all super nice but firm, teaching kids to respect others and how to be responsible. Every morning starts with the lineup ceremony where words of encouragement are shared to start the day!

What I saw and experienced all the teachers there are wonderful. They treat the students with the utmost respect.

I can only speak for 1 Grade. Homework given the beginning of the week. Having my daughter do daily work and keeping her busy and learning at home what she was learning in school.

They care about all their students and well being. They treat everyone with respect and courtesy.

My daughter went to this school for 1 grade. We had moved from Florida a year ago. Not only is the school great, the principal, teachers front office staff were all exceptional. My daughter met great friends. Academically, she learned so much. The parent involvement was superb. The only regret I have is my family not being able to stay in Nevada for her to continue at this wonderful school 2015-2016.

Both my kids go to this school my son has been here for 3years now and now they are sending my kids to a different school because they say they can't handle them at this school so if ur thinking about sending ur kids here I would not send them to this school.

Had a terrible experience with the staff! The front office, Principal, and teacher were condescending, unhelpful, and discriminatory. No, my son was not a problem child, he was just a little behind and it was unreal how awful he was treated!!

I have had multiple children at this school for the past 5 years. My kids all LOVE the school and I have had a good experience. All teachers have been attentive to my children. There is A LOT of parental involvement in this school. I didn't really care for the principal, but she's leaving, there will be a new principal 2014-2015 school year. Everyone I know loves the school, I am confused by the negative comments! People move to this area just so their child can go to this school.

Not impressed with this school at all. We moved here thinking it was a better school but I was wrong. Half day kinder is a joke, they only have 2 1/2 hours of school and the teacher STILL gives them a 20 min recess, everyday!. Are you kidding me? And when I brought it up to the teachers attention she said kids need it because they get restless! Really?? This is the only school I know that takes half day kinder students out to Recess and P.E.! They can't handle them for 2 1/2 hrs? Oh and if you need to speak to the principle.... Forget it! she is extremely guarded by the front office staff! The PLT does try and do a lot of events to help raise money and I think if it wasn't for them this school would just disappear. I think we were spoiled at our other school where the entire school was involved and on the same page, not to mention the principle she was extemely involved. Here at Goolsby I have yet to see the principle unless it's a special event and they need her "face." Security at this school is very concerning, gates are wide open prior to school opening, and are opened prior to dismissal. Bus students have no supervision and are released prior to dismissal bell.

My child is in 2nd grade and seems to be doing well. She has had all good teachers so far. The PE teacher is a little much and some of the parents are your typical summerlin snobs. I just have a good laugh when they drop the kids off in their Range Rovers. Outside of that, great school and good teachers so far.

Goolsby has been going down hill the last few years. The administration pretends to want what is best for the students who attend the school, but all they care about is making themselves look good and getting their 5 star rating at any cost. It's very disturbing. I think there are some great teachers, but many that are not so great. The PE teacher and Librarian are exceptional, along with the other specialty teachers. Be careful about bringing classroom concerns to certain classroom teachers with egos. There is not much positive reinforcement within the school either. No award or special recognition is given to students for good grades or excellent citizenship. I think overall the school is okay, but with better leadership and getting rid of some of the teachers (the ones with attitudes who let you how perfect they are and who think they are better than all their peers) Goolsby could be an outstanding school. The PLT is amazing and they do a lot to help keep the school going in a positive direction.

You know, I could go on and on about the staff themselves being the most fabulous ever!, but I really want this to be about the children. Having such a spectacular staff. It is passed down to our kids. We have really caring, do anything they put there mind to kids. It makes a difference when the large amount of time you know is spent with such a great teachers, and a great staff always ready for you. The staff never gets enough credit for the extremely exhausting however never giving up on their kids passion. Are awesome front staff is super friendly. They are quick to handle all situations, if possible. I am lucky to have my children go to Goolsby. We are also blessed with such a high volume of parental involvement. Thank you Mrs Blume and Mrs Brinks for not only maintaining such a lovely environment for my children to learn in but for the both of you to be so involved with our kids. It really makes them feel as important as they truly are. Thank you, Clark County for blessing us with a fully loaded wonderful staff, who really appreciates being their for our kids.

I couldn't have hand picked a better school. We started private at Faith and quickly moved our kids to Goolsby. Our kids are further along academically that the kids that we left behind at the private school! High marks on education, programs, teachers & parent involvment. We had several choices and Goolsby rated on top of all the other schools, public or private.
