I would recommend this school for your children it is amazing the teachers care for their students make sure everything is great the lunch is fine but most defiantly not a 10/10 . There is no bulling but if it is seen or heard or students constantly telling the office about it, it will be delt with. The students there are nice everyone is shy at first but once you get to know them, they are such sweethearts, The students don't get much homework, But they do get work to take home. I would recommend this school it is a 10/10

This school is a gem hidden in the inner city of Las Vegas. The teachers here are amazing each and everyday with students. I have two students currently enrolled, one at each campus, and this school has given them both the resources to thrive. Both my children also receive SPED services and I have literally no complaints. As a SPED parent how many of you can say that? Any time my children have needed any level of support for emotional needs it has been met immediately and empathetically. I cannot even begin to say enough good things about this school in that regard.
This school cares a lot about it's students. The teachers also keep up with students who progress to the upper campus. My oldest child is at the upper campus and when I pick up my younger child I am constantly asked how my older child is doing. Parents are friendly and engaging and supportive especially with sports. My children have thrived since coming here in 2021. Their teachers have made a forever and lasting impact on them.
I feel the material being taught is on par for state standards and homework loads are appropriate for students at each grade level. Yes it is work, but it is not an overload in our experience. Both my children run or walk into school excited each day to see their friends, and teachers. The arts departments due a ton with very little. The music teacher at the lower campus is incredible and experienced. The lowest scores for testing reflected are most likely due to environmental factors outside the students/schools control such as home life. My child has continued to make steady progress and advancement with their MAP and other state testing scores under the guidance of the teachers of this school.
Most of all this school is safe. I do not worry about my children at school. We have a complicated situation with our personal life and co-parenting situation and this school has stepped up and done nothing but support us and make sure we know our children are safe everyday. Everyone knows my children and myself for pick ups and drop offs, and regularly engages my children as human beings not just students to inquire about their lives. This is so important in a school with this level of diversity of students coming from all range of backgrounds. The school security officer at the lower is an amazing man.
Bullying is handled swiftly. My oldest child has had some issues with bullying and both the upper and lower campus have swiftly put a stop to the situation immediately.

Innovations International Charter School of Nevada prepares their students for failure. I would like for parents to consider other options prior to enrolling their children at this school. Graduating from this school did not prepare me or my peers for college after High School.
I read another review stating that it is the parent's fault for the students education or lack thereof, this is not true. No matter how involved a parent can be that cannot make up for the subpar quality of education available at this school. The people responsible for the curriculum are not interested in the student's learning, this is simply reflected in the state standardized test scores, which are below average. At the time I thought the state standardized tests were difficult, which isn't because it's a measurement of how well the students perform at their current grade level. It is a big cumulative test of the basic sciences, english and math that students should have learned up to that point in high school. The education offered here, consists of watching a movie and copying the page of a book, clear as to why this school scores on the 16th percentile (grade letter D-). The staff that should make your child feel comfortable in a place of learning does the opposite, they walk around the school terrorizing the students, yelling at them and looking down on them as if they are better. Overall, the failures and the successes from this school is reflected in its leaders, who look to enroll more students simply for the $ the State gives them per student enrolled. Reflected on the pay the leaders receive (transparentnevada) and the school they run. Adding more students and not investing in the quality of education creates more pressure on the already overwhelmed teachers (most quit in less than 1 year working there), reducing the already low quality of education. If you want your child to get a decent education enroll them everywhere else but here.

I have been involved with this school since it started in 2006. I have spent several years tutoring students in the after school program, have come to know the staff, students, & many parents. The ultimate conclusion I have come to regarding the problems & issues at the school is due to parents that have no involvement in their kids education. They put 100% of the educating & discipline on the backs of the teachers & administration. You parents that only have negative comments need to look at yourselves first! When kids are disciplined and you parents are notified, your comments are most always that the teachers are picking on your child or you simply ignore the problem. It is also well advised that if your kids are struggling perhaps you should spend less less time complaining about the teachers & the administration and spend more time at home helping your kids with their homework . How about a half hour each day reading with your kid(s) and spend less of your time on your own selfish interests. Yes, I know of you parents that are more absorbed in yourselves instead of your children. Then it's easier to blame others rather that taking responsibility for you own kids education.

Inappropriate behavior from teachers bullying students. Mental intimidation. Principal inability to adequately dissapline staff. Removed my kids from this school.

This schools administration had great intentions but the plan has not been well executed. Wonderful teachers (thankfully) but none of the things promised during the hour long orientation came to fruition. My child is in the second year at this school and has not learned any foreign language, the librarian in the new "library" is not certified, there are teachers assistants who use inappropriate language around children, and worst of all the principal does not keep office hours. The school gets its direction from the top. A principal who does not have office hours, can not be reached by phone and can only be seen by appointments made via email is not a good leader. We are one of several families leaving this school next year.

My two children have been attending IICSN since 2011 and I can honestly say that I love the school. The staff, teachers and principal truly care about the children and the education that they are receiving. I have brought several of my friends into the school and they all love it as well.

At my school there is plenty of bullying. There was a girl that stole all my money out of my backpack and I tried to report it, but the teachers and security wouldn't do anything about it. All the students at our school cuss and date because they want to fit in so bad. That's how I lost my best-friend because she wanted to date somebody and ended up ditching me after she met new friends that told her to stop being friends with me and start being mean. I was sad, but she was just using me so she could copy off of my school work. If you want to send your child to a good school it certainly shouldn't be this one.

my kids did attend the school for a little while but I was disappointed the staff is friendly but what i would hear from my kids was kind of scary. How can they let kids use bad language in school and this is not just the students but the teachers very disappointed. It really looks like a good school but after that I prefer my kids back in regular school.

I must admit they are a little unconventional but overall they are very good with the kids and I feel confident my kids will get a great education there. They have a wonderful special needs program and a variety of subjects for expanding the childrens future goals. Mr. Poole is fantastic. I appreciate all the teachers very much. They have several PhDs at the school which you dont really see much of in other schools. I wish there was more parent involvment.

Let me be the first parent to post a review for 2011. My children have been attending IICSN for almost 4 years now. Previously they had been in private schools only. I've got to say I am extremely impressed with the participation of not only the staff but parents and students as well. Yes, first there were growing pains but as a new school, you tend to expect this. Every year has gotten better and better. I can't imagine my children attending any other school where everyone knows them and watches out for them. Yes, my children have learned more about real students than in a private school where they actually were sheltered from the real world. Some of these kids have had tough breaks and it just makes you cry with joy when you see them overcome every obstacle and graduate! Not many schools if any would take the time to educate and help a student grow into a young adult and wonderful person. For all the negative reviews previously, perhaps that parent was just not as involved as they should be. IICSN truly appreciates and honors and respects involved parents and encourages it. I can't say enough about this school except I'm always impressed.

If you want to know about a school....ask a teacher.I have taught here three years. IICSN has had its growing pains. There have been disgruntled parents, students, and staff. There is no hiding that.Has there ever been a school that has not has these issues?I have also witnessed some of the most unique opportunities ever.Teachers have been instructed and taught how to do project based teaching. We have been provided with innovative technology to do so.The physical environment is not perfect but we have been give support to work in it and the school is taking steps to ensure a better structure. When people are honest and mature about issues they are resolved. Our administrator is never going to argue. Sometimes I would like a rise out of her but while she is just smiling...she IS listening. She teaches EVERYONE to seek their own solutions. There is something special about IICSN.Just watch, you'll see!!!
