Sorry, but this school is absolutely horrible. As a student who’s about to move, being at this school has genuinely made my mental health drop. Nobody in these reviews are lying about the bullying; as they’re all masked under social media drama and fights. And yes, I’ve been apart of them. I wish I could’ve moved away sooner, because I’ve only had more bad experiences at this school than good. If you’re looking to send your teen here, I wouldn’t recommend it because it was terrible for me and terrible for many others I know.

This staff here encourage, support, condone and even participate in the immense bullying that is allowed to happen here. They allowed a students bullies access to her in the school office where she was supposed to be kept safe, stood by and cheered on the bullies while they jumped that student and then claimed they were scared. Students here know the staff is too lazy to do anything and staff favors the bullies, so the bullies run that school and the staff stand by with a proud smile watching them terrorize every other student. This is a great school for your kid if you want your kid to explore their homicidal/psychotic tendencies without any repercussions.

Removed all my children from this school due to extreme bullying and lack of administrative control. Terrorizing environment for a child. Cliques behave like gangs. The brave, strong kids who stand up to the bullying are met with gaslighting, suspension and no support or safety net. The school allows bullying because they never acknowledge it. Cold Springs Middle School is out of control in my perspective.

Overall this is a great school. Students are lifted up and empowered and I can see that in my student when they get home from school.

I wish there would be less relying on the student to complete homework and more parent teacher communication.

Former CSMS student here, and I'd say my experience was horrible. If I could give this school a zero star rating, I'd do so in a heartbeat.

They had a very bad approach to everything on the checklist. The school doesn't care about its students, they only see us as a source of profit. They don't teach us well enough, and I learned absolutely nothing going through the first two years of this.

I had to be pulled out in sixth grade due to the fact that I had been bullied. Instead of putting any effort into trying to help me out, the school had decided that I was to blame for all of it and sent me to their version of a prison cell (it's called a Cubby, and it only has a desk and a chair). I stayed there for almost an entire day before my father came in and took me home. That was the last day I ever stepped foot into that school.

All in all, DO NOT send your child here. The staff is absolutely awful, the teachers don't teach you anything you could have learned in fourth grade, and they turn a blind eye when something happens that could negatively affect their "five star rating".

Nope. The teachers don't care about building character in their students, instead they worry about how our shirts aren't tucked in or that we're holding our binder the wrong way.

Posted: November 12, 2019

The teachers don't cater to the smarter students, instead spending entire class times on trying to get little Jimmy to understand this one multiplication problem. Even the GT class doesn't improve this experience, since all we did in that class was eat snacks, read books BELOW our grade level, and work on word searches.

I had to be pulled out because I was being heavily bullied and the school did nothing about it. They even tried to blame me for the whole ordeal.

First impression with the office ladies was not good. Either it’s because of my skin color or they really don’t know how to welcome and smile new parents and students. I’m going to see again how it all goes on August 2nd. 2018 when we come in to meet teachers and etc.

The ladies in the office aren’t too friendly when they see a brown person come in to register. I’m going to see how this is all play out while my kids attend to this school for the first time.

Granted my child has only been there for one year, 5th grade, but the teacher is sub par. Doesn't explain the lessons well, tends to lose homework and during the parent teacher conferences, expects the student to do the conference. Sever nepotism runs rampant within the administration. I would advise avoiding Cold Springs Middle School School at all cost if possible.

Posted: April 16, 2018

The teacher has a basket to have the students turn in the homework. The teacher doesn't check the basket until the end of the day and doesn't monitor the basket so homework gets lost.

Posted: April 16, 2018

My child's teacher is inept and shouldn't be a teacher. She doesn't explain the lesson well and expects the students to basically teach themselves.

Posted: April 16, 2018

It appears that the school just wants to pass the students along so they are another school's problem to deal with.

My daughter is in the 5th grade. She moved up here from Arizona. Arizona is obviously behind the curve on education. At first my daughter struggled a little with the structure, then after the first Term I started to see a significant improvement in her Math skills, Reading skills, and overall interest in going to school everyday. My daughter seems to enjoy all aspects of Cold Springs Middle School and enjoys learning new things. Her teacher seems real attentive to my child's education and I am always informed by phone and e-mail weekly of my child's homework and projects. Looking forward to my daughter reaching the next level....6th grade. This school definitely will have my daughter prepared for High School in a few years.
