This is an amazing school despite the nonsense claimed on here. The school has a down to earth, relaxed, personal atmosphere which can be unexpected to those going in unaware. The staff has been there a long time with many of the teachers being alumni or veterans who still live in the community. If you are a respectful, you will be treated with respect. A big part of what is taught at the school is to always treat others with respect even if you don't necessarily like our agree with them. Bullying is incredibly rare at this school due to this and the close relationships the students form with each other. There has been numerous times where students that didn't really know each other, would stick up for one another. This has been the case with our family, who were not from the area and were welcomed in like we always belonged. This school saved my kids lives because they were bullied so badly at another nearby school and that didn't happen here. There are many events and meetings that invite parents in to see how well their kids are doing and many different ways to help their kids if they need some extra help. There are also many different extra curricular activities for the students that the whole community will come to watch and support (soccer and the musical being the biggest two). Your kids will absolutely love it here in a much more relaxed environment that allows them to grow and express themselves. Highly recommended.

Horrid. Thankfully we moved. Thankfully my sons academics were not affected by this poor experience and all 3 of my children are thriving with honors at their new school

My son was gifted when we transferred here. He was allowed to sit and draw in class instead of being challenged

This question is clearly a joke. The teachers belittle the students. There seems to be a pattern... if your parents went there... and you are part of the history of the school you're good to go. But... if you don't fit the basic mold of blonde hair and blue eyes... you're not going to excel here.

Met with superintendent who appeared to be physically present during meeting but not mentally. She made excuses and made comments such as 'I can't imagine ms... would do this or that's when it was overhears by myself and other parents.

My son was gifted. He came from a very respected school. So glad this was only a temporary stop for our family after retiring from the marine corps.

How could they address students bullying students when some of the staff partakes in it themselves?

At the end of a yearlong emotional struggle, four administrative meetings, and uncountable meetings with the teacher, leadership remained disconnected, yet aware of our attempts to remedy our side of the situation.

After only 2 weeks of being in school, my child exhibited 8 out of 9 signs of being bullied as defined by Stopbullying.gov: Warning Signs for Bullying, yet blame was placed on me, the parent and the child was labeled as having "separation anxiety." Parental suggestions on alternative seat arrangements and inclusion of the other child's parent to a meeting were disregarded.

Unexpected. Administration and office personnel grew impatient resigning empathy and encouragement and began to refuse to assist a crying child to the classroom. Behavior plans included goals on "How to get through the day without crying so I do not disturb others". Through various parental and administration conversations, the common denominator is we were not "generationally born here" and therefore, are not accepted. Statistics about this school system and community are high praise. Sadly, reality differs.

Social skills and emotional intelligence should be the priorities of kindergarten. A safe non judgmental place to learn teamwork, sharing, leadership, conflict resolution, and acceptance of differences. Kindergarten is overwhelming as it is, especially when coping with stronger personalities and different values than what is learned at home.

My child's kindergarten teacher failed to acknowledge and intervene a bully in the classroom until after 6 months of the year had passed.

This is their motto, and they give monthly awards to children who best exemplify these traits. However, for unknown reasons, these values do not apply to all.
