This school hasn’t been as providing of certain things to me and that there could be other school that kids can go to. They share a school with girls that have a very much age difference between some of the ages causing concern amongst what might happen if a student accidentally interferes with a female much older that has no self control and another concern of mine is how they put certain people as of students and staff to work together and I will admit it’s kinda scary being that most of the staff there are mostly white…

When utilized properly, homework can be a valuable tool for reinforcing
learning that takes place in the classroom. Unfortunately, many DCS teachers do not use homework effectively. They need to improve their utilization of homework by using research-tested strategies and accommodations . They need to meet the challenge of differentiating
instruction for students with a wide range of abilities and varying exceptionalities because students with disabilities experience more
difficulty with homework than their classmates without disabilities yet are not receiving accommodations in the way homework is organized and structured in order for it to be most effective.

The teaching professionals at DCS are predominated by white women, many of them are very qualified and are interested in helping all of their students succeed but lack first-hand experience in connecting with black male students. The white males are struggling even more with connecting with students . It's not clear how many teachers are certified in a subject or how many have more then a year or two of experience?

Character education is provided, but has not, for the most part, produced significant improvements in student behavior or academic performance. Time to try something new ?

lacks passion, fails to reflect on what works, rarely seeks feedback, does not embrace change, fails to encourage collaboration with parents and communities (Rochester & Greece)

Students who come in "behind the 8 ball" tend to stay behind in academics. They need to overhaul and improve educational outcomes for these families. Yes, most of the DCS are doing better than RCSD students but they are still not performing at grade level and will not be college ready.

The facilities are horrible! Hot in the summer, cold in the winter. The building needs many repairs, it's not an easy location for parents to get to, our kids deserve better.
