At NTI, the school teachers, staff, and social support are like no other! They were there for my child as she adapted to Type 1 diabetes in 4th grade. Together I worked with the staff, social support, and nurse to give her a safe and wonderful experience. We LOVE NTI! My child was there during the pandemic, so experienced remote,hybrid, and in-person all in the three years there - so it was a lot. I am very, very impressed with how our teachers adapted, got creative, and then eased our children back into the classroom.

As a parent of a child with a disability - I cannot say enough about how wonderful NTI was with my oldest. She had just become Diabetic during lockdown, and not only had to ease back into the classroom, but had to manage sugar levels that were honestly a bit erratic that first year as we all adapted to our new norm. The nursing staff was so kind, persistent, experienced, and professional. The teachers were amazing and supportive, as was the administration. And in general, the district goes the second mile for their children with disabilities and special needs. Not every district does that. Because North Tonawanda is a smaller district, there is a real effort to help every single special needs child and not let any one of them fall through the cracks. And you can contact them, meet with them, any time. It's a team effort!

Teachers adapted quickly to the pandemic and did their best to reach students. The real work was getting them back into the classroom, adapted to social environments again, and then helping them catch up. Many, many children, fell behind during lockdown for various reasons, and the entire district continues to work together to help these pandemic students not only catch up to any missed work, but to thrive and succeed!

NTI is unique - it is 4-6th. In 6th students are given more responsibilities. They get a locker, more classes, and some independence to get them ready for middle school. And can I just say that it is a relief as a parent that my 6th grader had an extra year of elementary school to adapt to the middle school years before jumping in headfirst.

The North Tonawanda district focuses on Technology, the Arts, and social support, which means that there are many resources, tech classes, and arts opportunities for the kids to explore. This is a unique school that cherishes our kids!

Not a very school at all. My kid comes home very deflated after school and experiences bullying but the teacher is too much of a push over to do anything about it. The principal is on some sort of power trip and believes he runs the universe and makes it very difficult for any parent to try to advocate for their child needs and what’s best. The principal does support the teachers but will not hear a parents point of view. He is very arrogant. They try to have the kids grow up too fast there since it’s a 4-6 grade school. There is not a suitable playground for kids. The school counselor is amazing though. She is a diamond.

I recommend being very involved. Be persistent with meetings if needed. Avoid bus riding if possible. Lots of inappropriate talk happens there. And just let everyone know that you are an active parent so your kid gets treated fairly. The more they know you are involved then the more inclined your kid will be treated right.
Overall, school needs a rebrand. Lots of improvement. Horrible school.

This school is lacking in several areas. Teachers seem very disconnected, in all classes. My child is in their last year and we couldn't be happier that they are going to another school come September. Communication between the parents and teachers is as minimal as it could possibly get. It appears that they are just pushing the kids along and out with no real concern for a real educational experience. My child who always loved school before going to NTI has lost his love for learning, he comes home often deflated and unmotivated, like I mentioned, no real educational experience. Zero school functions where parents can attend and see what kind of progress is being made. Zero functions for student gatherings outside of the classroom. No musical recitals , even though my child is in band, no dances, no holiday parties or fun fundraisers.
This school is a basic as a plain paper plate.

NTI is a caring place for students. A focus on Arts & Technology. Students have band, choir, computers, Tech class (where they do logic, 3d printing & coding), art and music. Staff really care about students. There are workshops on mental health & disabilities which let's students learn and talk about their issues in a safe environment. My child has a disability and the school has worked with us and helped our child catch up. She's excelling academically despite her physical challenges. That's thanks to our teachers. Though during remote school academics did suffer for all students, teachers are now doing their best to help kids catch up. Safe school. They address bullying immediately. 5 stars. So happy we are at NTI.

Great school, should have a better rating! Wonderful teachers and staff, amazing special education classrooms and special needs therapists as well! My children absolutely thrive at Meadow Elementary School!

I've 2 kids in meadow. The curriculum is below par, the teachers absent/ unavailable regularly, and the entire district doesn't seem to care about the children at all. In 2 years my kids have not had a book report, feild trip, science project (or any project), or really anything aside from half a page of math homework a few days a week. There is no place for intelligent children in this district as they have done away with the gifted program, but they are equipped with a padded room!! The kids are not recognized or rewarded for good behavior or getting outstanding grades, they simply receive a G on their report card, for GOOD, if they even send you the right report card, it's nice to know someone elses kid is having trouble tho. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Considering selling my house and moving.
