Overall, this school is horrible. The information provided on here is inaccurate. The teachers do not care about the students well being. Its all about how well you can make them look good for the state.

Terrible, if u want ur kid to be disrespected then this school is great the school hires mean people to work with children, in my experience at this school I had a teacher scream at class every day and the school did nothing about it, when my parent confronted the teacher that teacher yelled at me in front of my parent yelling at my face and changing the subject so dont be surprised when your kid complains about main school staff every day they treat kids like their in prison instead of school because the school is so strict its ridiculous the teachers can also get away with telling students to shut up, I dont recommend this school at all I had to almost transfer 3 times from this school because how bad the school is.

This school has a negative environment, teachers scream at students and yell in their faces and the school allows it. There have been multiple teachers telling students to shut up. Although students do learn a lot and it's a small school, gossip spreads quickly and people are very rude. If you want your kid to be disrespected then this school is great.

Black (brown) students can be left to feel ostracized and insignificant. Black History Month was not celebrated or taught this month. Seeking a new school that can celebrate all students of all cultures in a healthy way.

This school has the most disgusting, most obnoxiously insane kind of metabolism. No amount of good grades any kind or amount of favoritism I get from the teachers or staff people find the worst or the most annoying, can ever make me regret this statement. This school is so strict on the dress code. They will personally stalk you if your online to see if your following it. They dont allow any color sweater but grey or bergandee, and if it has a hoodie, they force you to take it off. Even if the classroom is extremely cold, and may I tell you, that the rooms are ALWAYS cold. I couldn't find what THEY wanted from FOUR different stores. It's even stupid how they will criticize what your wearing but they dont even sell their own brand! Why bother imagine how insufferable or annoying or how pessimistic some people are, if their are multiple demonstrations all around you. They handle the students as if their the top tier prison guards. They consider every member of their school "part of the GCA family" but when my name was in the list but their STILL did not accept me, my mother had to personally yell at them after she blew a ton of money on the gear for this school. No matter how long I have to stay in touch with this school I can assure you with certainty that I will NEVER feel comfortable even associating with this place. Thats pretty much it, the building may look pretty'n all but the metabolism of this place is disgusting.

GCA has a dedicated staff of teachers with in depth knowledge of literacy and math. Teachers are consistently revising their own teaching strategies to ensure the success of students. Lessons are purposeful and generalized across other curriculums. Reteaching and in depth analysis of errors allowed teachers to facilitate learning for struggling students. Collaboration among teachers is key to the success of our students!! Excellent job GCA !

GCA has a dedicated staff of teachers and administrators who are passionate about students success. My child loves going to school everyday. They also offer plenty of extracurricular programs like music, drama, chorus and Greek language. The administration knows what it takes to make children succeed and I couldnt be happier.

GCA is a very intensive school. When my kids started kindergarten, they only knew the alphabet. However, by the end of the school year, they were able to write and read. I appreciate all the work done by the staff and the patience that they have with the kids. Thank you Mr Victor for keeping the kids safe amd in a good environment.

Firstly, I cannot express the words that GCA means to our family. They are in the no longer on Grand Concourse and are located in the Throggs Neck area of the Bronx, and that is how we found them, and are we glad that we did. It basically is a hidden gem. If you look at their test scores, GCA is better than most, if not all, in the area and the state. People pay tens of thousands of dollars to get a school with these ratings. My two kindergartners started the year with basic alphabet and some very basic writing ability, and now after K graduation they are reading at a 2nd grade level and writing paragraphs. They now read me bedtime stories. The teachers are amazing, and they ensure that the kids that are excelling continue to learn past their level. Mr. Victor and Ms. Howard are amazing leaders of the school and they know all the students. They ensure that everyone is learning, foster a protective environment and love seeing all the kids do well. As parents, we are always aware of any issues and any of the faculty is very easy to get into contact with. The school day runs from 8:00 to about 4:00 and partly one of the reasons the kids are so far ahead of their peers that attended public schools in the area. Again, we cannot express enough our gratitude for finding GCA and hope that your experience is as great as ours.

All 3 of my kids attend this amazing school..My son first started in Kindergarten and then my oldest followed 2 years later...She was struggling with her academics in the public school she was going to,so when she came to G.C.A she was a little behind.I was worried nonetheless due to the great teachers and my cooperation we got her up to speed.I was so happy.As of last year my third child started and they all love it.The staff knows me well and they are very very attentive to your child's needs.. I will miss them when all my kids leave there and I hope to find one just as Awesome as them..

My son has been in this school for 1st and 2nd grades now. Its a great school. Small class rooms, 2 teachers in the class. Swimming program for all 2nd graders. They have music, spanish, art, perform concerts. Fun Fridays are incorporated for the children to celebrate different things. They have bus service, a long school day 7:40am breakfast, 8am-4pm school day and after school up till 5:30. They are looking to expand past 5th grade. They have lots of educational trips during the year. My son has had excellent teachers who really care and push for him to utilize his full potentials. The school communicates with parents, I love that. Unlike public school where your child enters the building and that's it, your not allowed in, and sometimes even meeting the principal is impossible. I have no complaints about this school. They're great, the staff is great, my child is happy here and so am I.
