Horrible place for any student, but especially those with a learning disability. This school only cares about "what it looks like" not what it really is! The administration is only concerned with retaining students so the money does not decline. The students have a dollar sign above their heads, so grades are manipulated to make it appear that the students are doing better than what they are. Teachers know that most of the parents cannot assess their students work so they can give them any grade they want to. The writing assignments are not graded on content or accuracy, they are graded for completion. The students are not being taught anything they will be able to use as they go further in school. A large percentage of students in the upper grades cannot read at grade level and therefor cannot complete their work assignments.
This school has Caucasian teachers teaching the students during their primary years K-3, and by the time the students reach middle school, where the teachers are ALL African American, the students are not able to read or write correctly, so they are not being taught correctly! The school is majority minority (African American), and one might say "systemic racism" starts early and is very apparent at this school. By the time the students need the skills they should have acquired in their primary years, it is too late! They need more than what the teachers can give them, short of doing the work for them, the teachers cannot help them, so they pad the student's grades, or the teachers are penalized.
This school is not a good place if you want your students to get a good education.

Hands off Principal that has a questionable approach to dealing with students (uses slang and Ebonics) and causes staff to leave mid-year resulting in students having multiple teachers per year in some grades.

High staff turnover (mid year staff changes happen regularly) and ineffectual leadership makes this a terrible environment for learning

Principal is hands off with students and this undermines all attempts to reign in behavior since it gives the impression that she doesn't care.

While the teachers are some of the most hard working people I have ever met, their lack of support from administration renders them ineffective, hence the high turnover.

I love the school I would not trade it for anything in the world. The teachers at City Day have high expectations for their students and are constantly encouraging the students to exceed their expectations. The staff I have found to be here at City Day to be encouraging to the parents and very patient just like I am one of their family members also. They include the whole family and not just my children.
