This year my son has done nothing but his best... this school allows him to be the individual he is and encourages the man he is to become. No other school can take credit for this other than summit academy...

What Summit Academy has done for my child is nothing short of amazing. Summit treats my child with respect as an individual. Staff truly cares about kids and helps them become good people, not just good students. Academics are challenging but also leveled for the students who need support. My student's IEP is followed and adjusted to be effective. The results speak for themselves. There are opportunities for sports, national honor society, volunteering, a work program and social clubs and events every week. They focus on building social skills and have a strong anti-bullying program. I do wish they could expand the high school in Dayton because there are so many kids who need a place like Summit.

This school is a joke. Their policy of "fairness, not sameness" keeps honors level students from excelling. In some cases, they will place you in classes with kids who can't read, due to the fact that they don't have placement tests. They claim to be a nurturing environment, but why is the bullying here rampant? They also don't offer social graduation, even though the law says otherwise. Their definition of "advanced classes" is placing you with immature, obnoxious students. Transportation a joke as well. It's been two months and they claim they're still "signing contracts". Their academics are a joke too. Only 15% of them passed the OGT this past spring. Also, their Career Exploration classes are just remedial English. They REQUIRE all students to take it. You learn how to sign your name. I already know how to sign my own name. Parents of kids with Aspergers and High Functioning Autism, BEWARE! Run from this school and never look back!
