I do not recommend this school to people who aren't hot cheeto girls or Masons. If you literally don't act the same as everyone else, you'll get bullied for the rest of the school years. And y'know what the vacuity does? Nothing. They refuse to take action because of favoritism or are just straight lazy and could careless about the well being of students. For example: If you dare go to the counselors office, she rather ask if you want to go to a mental hospital instead of giving genuine compassion towards the student who's crying. They all could care more about flipping phones being in the building than the well being of students in the school. It's so unfortunate because the Magnet teachers seem to actually be trying, and they're good at their job. It just the people who don't teach the talent. Teachers are okay, some of them just don't teach though and rather make the whole class suffer from one students action instead of making them leave. They also will stop teaching for all student just because one student is talking and will stand there and stare at the students. It's insane because these students will keep talking because they literally do not care about the class so then you'll have your learning time stripped away from you instead of teachers getting someone to make them leave. They'll even threaten you, but won't act on it. But that's just a little bit of teachers at the school of course. Also, the dress code is extremely sexist and students can get away with saying words that they can't claim. I'm not just saying the dress code is sexist because I'm a student who has gotten dress code, no. I'm saying this because boys can come in with belly shirts and short shorts that have their butt out and no one bats an eye at them. This can also go for some girls due to the favoritism.
In conclusion, don't send your student to this school if they haven't read this warning or aren't able to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders because you have to do everything for yourself. Teachers mess up the grades a lot. So, goodluck <3

This school is very welcoming and helpful, whether you are visual arts, theatre, choir, creative writing or band, everyone has a good time here.

Everyone is really unique and we all respect each other (for the most part). There's not a lot of bullying and 9/10 students are really nice!

10/10! I really like it at Stivers, the teachers try to help you in any way you can. Their teaching methods work and I've actually learned stuff! I'm glad that as a Creative Writer and Visual Artist at the school (going into 8th grade this year!), I get to excel at what I love. And it's really good because there's students here who are just as creative as me, if not more! Truly a great school for artistic students.

Ive had two kids graduate from Stivers and one is a freshman now. I couldnt ask for a better public school for my kids to attend. The faculty truly cares about getting through to the kids and helping them be successful in acedemics and their art magnet. The whole school is a nurturing environment that allows the kids to be themselves artistically. And because it is a 6 year program, the kids really get to know the teachers and faculty which in turn creates a home like atmosphere. I love this school and all that it has to offer for my kids.

I am planning to audition for stivers and I think this school is really good for me .My natural talents are creative writing, singing ,visual ARTS, and dance. that's why stivers is THE BEST SCOOL 4 MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stivers is a unique opportunity for urban Dayton residents, and for quite a few suburban students who pay tuition to attend this arts magnet school. From the 7th grade, area arts professionals give students private lessons as a part of their education here. Students may take Spanish, French or Latin, beginning in 7th grade. The teachers and staff work together as a team to help students succeed, artistically and academically. There are ten AP courses available to give students a jump-start in college. The orchestra and jazz orchestra programs are award-winning, competing on the national level. Students are also encouraged to take part in community groups such as Muse Machine and the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestras. As a parent of three Stivers students, I highly recommend the opportunities this school offers! If your student wants to learn, the soil is rich at Stivers.

We are a military family who transferred into the high school program from another arts magnet school in our previous state. Our former arts magnet school has exceptional staff, academics and theatre programs.The theatre suffers from unprofessional and uninspired leadership. The academics are poor, not surprisingly since it is an urban Dayton City Public school. I would not recommend this school to anyone, especially military transfers and students who are academically elite.

My school is the bess 5real tho. You people missin' the SWAG might think othawise, but we got the bess students an' teacha's evah. We bin doin' all the school music an' art stuff, goin to great colleges n' tuff. I guess we could be gettin' a better language classes if ya sees what I'm say.

I was a student at this school from the time I was a middle school student...and the teachers were very passionate about their subjects and were willing to help when asked...however...there were some teachers who were horrible. The hours were wonderful and the arts programs were amazing (I learned a lot). I would reccommend this school to any one who is looking to get some broadened horizons...but air on the side of caution...the arts classes are very strict and time consuming...this school is not for the faint of heart.

Stivers is my fav school ever!!!! because there have awesome education, i can learn eveything i get straight A and i am an honor roll student of stivers. Stivers always have wonderful arts magnets. I keep studying on Visual Arts Magnet. There has very rich arts culture and i am so appreciated!!!!!!
