PHCSE is a fantastic school. The curriculum is outstanding, focusing on Entrepreneurship, STEM, as well as the Core Curriculum. The administrators, teachers, and staff are wonderful and very caring. They are student-centered and use a holistic approach to education. PHCSE's mission and values align perfectly with my personal values for education.

Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship was the Best school that we have ever experienced. The teachers are thoughtful and encouraging. The staff at the front are very knowledgeable. The principle engaged w/ everyone. The CEO shows up to school sporting events. The school is very diverse and the students are very respectful, because they are given respect! My son is a picky eater, but he ate the freshly made lunches prepared at the school everyday!

Our school us in the know with everything. There is transparency within the curriculum, with spending, and even in plans for construction/remodeling. Secondly, there is a focus on entrepreneurship and technology. My kindergartener had a job within his micro society and he assists the older kids with their own businesses as an intern. For the older students there are many chances to sell their products in school and online. The school also partners with community organizations to provide after school and summer camp programs. The support that is in place for children who need more help with social and emotional development is in place and beyond amazing. Theyre always opportunities for parents to volunteer and contribute to the classrooms. Proud to be a PHCSE mom!

My grandson went to this school for two years. He is now at another school. He was academically prepared for the new school. He asked to come back to PHCSE all the time.
PHCSE is family oriented and prepares student for real life situations and they learn about entrepreneurial development while learn their core subjects.

My son first year was for fifth grade. At first we got off to a rocky start. He was new first time out of his old school district. He's always been under the same care for years. So I figured it was going to be a bumpy start. When he came home and told me about a teacher that was really mean and nasty. I thought he was being a brat. But I started to notice his change in behavior for the worst !! Sent a few emails to the teacher she never responded. But one day a gentlemen from the school called me treated me like we was family, we talked for a while !About a month later that 5th grade teacher was no longer at the school. I was happy to see my son come back around to his silly self. I know my kid isn't innocent in everything . But they do have a caring staff and hard working educators. I wish the school went to the 12 grade .

This is NOT a good school. Discipline is may seem like it is happening but the troubled youth that attend this school never truly have any repercussions for their behavior. This translates into an environment which is unsafe for students and teachers. Teacher turn over is high and this is why. This school will sell sunshine and lollipops but I would never send my child here. This school does NOT have a peaceful environment that promotes learning despite every teachers valiant efforts. They allow the small number of youth who have been removed from public schools to display violent, bullying, disruptive behavior because at the end of the day these children represent $$ given to them from the state to operate. More time is spent by teachers trying to maintain a safe environment than learning and it shows in the state test scores. Please if you value your childs safety and education, do not send them here.

My sixth grader who is on the autism spectrum has attended this school since she's been in Kindergarten. I also have a first grader who has attended for two years. I'd like to shout from the rooftops our family loves this school! From the classroom and special education team teachers to the food service workers to the school nurse to the janitors to the administration, the school and staff are excellent and supportive. The school has four main values it emphasizes Character, Academics, Relationships, and Entrepreneurship and they carry each one out daily. My children both feel like a valued part of the community here in the classroom and through the unique opportunities of their MicroSociety. I love sending my children here because I know not only will they be safe, well cared for, and educated, they will be celebrated, too.

Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship is the greatest place to work and learn. At PHCSE everyone lives out the core values of building strong character, academics, relationships, and entrepreneurs for a life of leadership. We have a family environment that promotes building relationships to improve academics. The staff truly CARES.

There is an emphasis on community service to give back to others. The school also has a Positive Behavior program that celebrates the good choices that students make by providing monthly incentives.

The leadership lives out the core values and supports staff, students, and families.

This school does a tremendous job of preparing youth for the real-world. This school integrates entrepreneurial concepts in all subjects and lessons. It's truly one of a kind and the epitome of an innovative, hands-on, student-centered learning environment.

The foundation of this school is to build a culture of respect, integrity, compassion, and strong character. Students are taught these values each and every day, and the result is evident in the way students conduct themselves. I've worked at schools that receive a 0/10 in this area, and truly drop the ball when it comes to school culture. Culture is the foundation of learning, and this school works towards this goal every day.

Leadership is strong, professional, and also truly cares about the students and families who choose PHCSE as their school of choice. I can go to administrators for anything, and they are very responsive when needed.
Posted: January 27, 2020
Excellent special education department, I am more than confident that every student is having his/her needs met.
Posted: January 27, 2020
Bullying is never tolerated and teachers/administrators are very proactive when dealing with any issue involving bullying. It rarely happens from my perspective but it is handled right away if it ever occurs.

I have been an educator for close to ten years, and I have worked in many schools in the Pittsburgh area, from very affluent all the way down. This school is truly special, and is a beacon of light in the Penn Hills community. Choosing PHCSE over the district should be a no brainer for all Penn Hills families, it is not even close.

The teachers at PHCSE are one of the reasons this school is so great. The level of commitment to the families is very strong and relationships are at the heart of this school's success. Teachers go above and beyond for the students at PHCSE and truly care about the success of every child. And the academics are very rigorous, students are pushed to their maximum potential every day.

They try every thing in their power to dehumanize their students. Their procedures and routines are set up like a jail system. These children have no chance to voice their own opinions.
Posted: March 15, 2019
Nothing in this school is effective. You can't get a hold of the Principal when needed and teachers ignore your emails and calls. Like I said once before every child is left behind.
Posted: March 15, 2019
All children are left behind and looked at as if they have some type of disability. I was told my child may have a disability but yet these teachers have no degree to diagnose a child. They have no remorse for children who may need extra help
Posted: March 15, 2019
They bully too. Like I said they try to dehumanize these children.
Posted: March 15, 2019
Homework is given but work is barely taught in class. You end up having to teach the lesson after you get home from work.
Posted: March 15, 2019
They do not stay on task with the students. Students struggle and they move on to the next lesson. This is why their scores are so low. Poor teaching
Posted: March 15, 2019
This may be one of the worst schools in the state of Pennsylvania.

I think this school is a fantastic alternative for my children. A school teaching entrepreneurship is setting our kids up to win in the long run, to think outside of the box, to allow them to tap in on there creative side and not be programmed into a 9 to 5 mentality. I have nothing against someone working a regular job, but to also know that you can be the creator of jobs is a great choice to have in life.

I think there "No Bullying" policy that they teach and truly rally around helps instill how they are to support and treat one another with honor.
