We enrolled expecting a Christ-centered school with strong values, fairness, and transparency, but unfortunately that has changed over time. Major curriculum changes were made without parents being properly informed, and the school now seems to follow public schools rather than offering the distinct Christian education many families expected.

There also appears to be favoritism, where families connected to administration receive different treatment. This creates an unfair environment that does not reflect the Christian principles of integrity and equality.

Leadership has become very one-sided, and there has been a noticeable decline in faculty and staff retention. Many of the strongest teachers and administrators have left, and it seems difficult for the school to keep quality staff long term.

Families who have reached out for financial assistance have reportedly been denied, while tuition continues to rise. At the same time, there have not been meaningful additions to sports, clubs, or academic opportunities.

The new high school building raises additional concerns. It does not include a gym or lockers, lunches will need to be brought over from the middle school because there is no commercial kitchen, yet administration offices were fully renovated first. This sends the wrong message about priorities.

Overall, it feels like the focus has shifted away from students, Christian values, and educational growth, and more toward image and finances. Families looking for broader opportunities and stronger transparency may find better options elsewhere.

The climate at this school the last couple of years has gone down hill. There is no transparency. Parents have no communication with the board or administration. All we get is an email maybe once a month from the president. There is high teacher turnover and students crammed into super small classrooms. Our children have mentioned on several occasions that there is bullying that goes without consequences and peers that don't even identify as Christian. We have chose to move them to another nearby private school that is more supportive of their teachers, has more tech and science resources and a better overall climate.

WSCA offers a student support program, but we don't have first-hand experience with it.

While we have not had any issue with bullying, I have no doubt that the administration would handle it quickly and effectively.

WSCA has been such a wonderful experience for our family. Our children are being challenged academically, while growing spiritually. They have plenty of opportunities to be involved in sports, arts, etc. We are thankful to be part of this community.

Homework begins very minimally in elementary school and gradually increases to prepare students for middle school and then high school.

The teachers are intelligent and engaging. They teach with a biblical worldview and open discussion is encouraged.

I cannot say enough good things about the character traits our children are developing at WSCA. Their faith has grown immensely.

The principals and superintendent are wonderful leaders, who lead by example.

The teachers care for the students on a personal level and also encourage the students to improve and to reach their potential.

The amount of homework is not overwhelming every day. Teachers try and balance it out and students have opportunities for extra help before and after school as well as during study halls and/or lunch.

Because the school is smaller, the teachers show genuine concern for the students and get to know each student and can hold them personally accountable.

As a high school student at West Shore Christian Academy, I have been both encouraged in my faith and challenged academically. Because the school is smaller, the teachers take an interest in me and I have been given the opportunity to get involved in robotics, speech/debate as well as music and sports. The school has a good sense of community and I really like it there.

The homework assignments are clearly communicated on RenWeb, an online resource easily accessed by students as well as parents. The students have sufficient time to complete homework assignments, without being overwhelmed by the amount. The teachers are accessible to them for any questions they may have.

The coaches encourage good sportsmanship, and the teachers cultivate honesty and fairness within the classrooms. They seek to be consistent and have integrity in their interactions with students.

My son attended public school for 3 year and was homeschooled for 5 years. West Shore Christian Academy quickly enfolded him into the life of the community. Through a couple events prior to the start of school, he was able to meet many of his classmates and begin to build relationships. He really enjoyed his first year at WSCA.

The teachers at WSCA are committed to developing an engaging learning environment in the classroom. They utilize a variety of instructional methods.

Our daughter had a fabulous kindergarten experience at West Shore Christian Academy. Her teacher was creative, energetic, fun, and motivated to hold her young students to the highest standards as Christ-followers. Our daughter not only developed her reading, writing and math skills, but also learned important lessons about friendship, forgiveness, obedience, and helpfulness—all within a Christian context that mirrored what we were saying, teaching, and trying to model at home. We were grateful for how her teacher partnered with us and truly invested in the lives of her students—both educationally and spiritually. We remarked several times throughout the school year that WSCA was absolutely worth the investment as saw our daughter mature in her knowledge and faith.

West Shore Christian Academy is a an excellent school that is built on a solid Christian foundation and is led by teachers and staff that are committed Christian educators and leaders. The teachers are compassionate, kind, and encouraging while at the same time holding to high standards in academics. As a smaller school, with an excellent student/teacher ratio, I know that my children are well cared for by their teachers, coaches and the administration. As a parent I appreciate that the school's core values and convictions are in in sync with the values and beliefs that we are committed to in our home. Finally, the school is committed to a diverse student body in terms of race, ethnicity and culture. I place a high value on this and my children have learned a great deal from being in class and becoming friends with students that come from different backgrounds. I highly recommend this school to families that are looking for a school with a strong academic environment that is also committed to Christian principles and ideals.
