If your child is having any troubles. You will quickly be asked to sign a remediation form if it continues quickly booted from the program. They also will not lay a hand on your child even if it's to protect them.

Our child has allergies. Half way through the school year and we have not seen anything on ingredients from school provided meals.

We reported that our son was telling us the bigger kids were calling him names and making fun of him. Nothing was done and no one witnessed it.

Poor. In the process of trying to work through some issues with our child we were told our child could not come back. Mind you it was here that our child was choked out by another student. If your child is perfect and presents no issues this school will be fine. If your child presents any struggles you will be told the public school would be a better place and they are not equipped to help. I simply do not recommend this school.

The effectiveness of a teacher changes from one to the next, and really depends on each teacher individually.

Some children at the school exhibit these characteristics and others don't - which is normal for most academic environments. Obviously, the above characteristics (integrity, compassion, and respect) begin at home and are reflected and nurtured in a school environment. However, at St. Stephen's, these characteristics, while alluded to in class, are not enforced.

If you are considering allowing your child to participate in St. Stephen's Episcopal School Summer Camp, or even attend the school, I strongly advise you to reconsider. The environment is both disorganized and chaotic. The leadership is seemingly effective, but this effectiveness is - in reality - a facade.

While the school will initially address students who struggle with learning disabilities, they will eventually disregard and exclude the children with the learning disabilities and differences. In reality, the teachers are not trained enough to deal with children who struggle with learning differences.

The school's idea of dealing with bullying is, essentially, putting a child in time-out (what they call giving him/her "minutes"). If the child who was a bully acted out enough, then he/she would go to the office and sit. In one situation, when an older child said sexually inappropriate things to a younger child, the older child was allowed to continue interacting with other children, and was also allowed to continue attending - when the sexual comments should have been grounds for expulsion.

I would, overall, rate this school as insatiafactory for what it claims to be. If you are looking for a religious, and academically rigourous environment, there are other schools in the greater Harrisburg area that offer better education, guidance, and spiritual growth. Politically, as well, your child will be introduced to liberal and "Episcopalian" thought, which goes without saying, and which should be deeply considered before allowing your child to attend. Ultimately, allowing your child to attend any school is a deeply personal decision, and I can only speak from my experience. If you are considering this school for your child, I wish you the best. If your child currently attends, I wish you would reconsider.

If your are considering St. Stephens, you will be making a phenomenal decision for yourself and your child. My daughter graduated from this school, and, now my son is there. All of the students and teachers know each other by name. It is truly a nurturing and academically challenging environment. There are field trips, clubs, and special programs that your child can be involved in, and; they greatly encourage parental involvement. Like another reviewer said, no school lunches, but; they have pizza and sub lunches once a month. (My kids like to pack their lunches anyway) Great school!!!!

The family atmosphere is incredible. The teachers and staff are all dedicated to the students. Academically rigorous yet supportive and nurturing. And the small class sizes are a plus. Well worth the money.

A perfect school, more like a family. The education is superb, both in what they teach and those who deliver it. Academically oriented, but the children also have SO much fun! Truly a model for what all schools should be!
