worst school in rock hill school district, my son just started school aug 15 alr had 10 fights in one week 5 holds and found 3 guns. in pe the boys don’t get to sit in the gym and wait on other classmates but have to sit in a dirty, hot locker room, kids video and take pictures of each other and post it on social media. the coaches make kids leave bookbag in locker rooms, witch is extremely unsanitary and disgusting. there school is infested with roaches.. when a fight happens nobody does anything and there is no punishment granted.

There is a lot of things wrong with Rock Hill High School and having went there I saw it first hand. First of all, almost all the teachers are very unprofessional. Most teachers I had (for some reason always english teachers and others) were more concerned about being your friend and not your teacher. Rules in the class were never enforced. Homework was never given either. Second, they spend money on the wrong things. Money goes to athletics and golf carts for assistant principles and other dumb things. Every school laptop I had was broken and unusable. Every book I had was in terrible condition, almost falling apart. I never once had a working laptop or a book that isnt falling apart. Third, the guidance counselors have NO CLUE what they are doing. Good luck going to them for guidance, because they’ll never be in their office. Also, this school is DIRTY. Cockroaches and other bugs everywhere. Lunch is disgusting. Fights all the time (one time there was more than 3 fights in one day.) If you’re buying a house in the area, try to buy one in the Northwestern school area. They actually know what they’re doing.

This school is kind of not paid any attention health wise this school is full of roaches even in the cafeteria and they don't try very hard to fix it. Also many parents have reported it and there is nothing at all being done about it, and students are told to get over it which is not okay.

I am not impressed with Rock Hill High School as communications with the school and teachers is sporadic at best. Even the apps and programs that a parent is supposed to be able to use to keep up with their child's assignments, grades and attendance don't work, are not utilized by facility, or end up with false entries. The only way a parent can keep up with what's going on is to be annoyingly overbearing to faculty and staff at nearly every turn. School policy changes that are made tend to lean toward making things more difficult, and communications about these are not concise nor succinct. If your child fails a class, they have "credit recovery" which is computer based to bring the students grade up to a "D" so that they may pass. The counselors push this as the preferred option instead of letting the student retake the class to go over the material again with an instructor. Applied Technology Center students (vocational) that have second half of the day class at ATC have to basically run to cafeteria have about 4 minutes to scarf down what they can then run to the buses or miss their ATC class(es) as the schedule stood for first part of the year then the school changes the three lunch schedule to a two lunch schedule which makes it even harder for these students to eat and make the bus. Also, lunch selection option are bad. Vending and canteen options are also bad. School office phones go to automated answer almost immediately after the day dismissal bell chime. So you better make sure your child has a cell phone. Which is actually reckless. As long as the school is open to school operations, this includes after school activities on campus, there should be the ability to reach faculty and/or staff by phone. Yet, this seems to have become fairly average procedure for middle and high school today. All in all, I do not recommend RHHS if you are looking at choosing a high school for your child.

I have had two children graduate from Rock Hill High School. They both have successful careers. I currently have a freshman there. I serve on the school improvement council. The school has a caring staff. It is important that parents are involved with their child's education. The school district has a great superintendent who is working to improve all of the schools in our district.

My school is okay. NOT handicap accessible, If in a manual wheel chair. The school spend money on things like golf carts(because the principals are to lazy to walk around) and the athletic department when we need more books/new books, new computers, new elevators, AND A LOT MORE. The teachers are pretty good. The Principals are decent. The counselors DON'T know how to do their jobs. If youre considering a rock hill school, South Points the worst. Northwestern is the best. Rock hill was the school I chose. I am no longer able to traverse the school therefore I am on homebound permanently, The school is good at making accomendations for students that need a 504, or IEP. Good Luck!
