We absolutely love this school! They have such a strong sense of community and the most supportive teachers and administration who truly care. Our daughter is thriving and loving the many opportunities the school offers with electives, academics, extra curriculars, and athletics. The class sizes are ideal and the diversity of the teachers and students is much more reflective of the community than other school we have looked at. With high academic standards, WCCS still makes learning fun while also focusing on positive character development driven by a Christ-centered, morally sound world view.

Westminster has been extremely helpful since before we started going to the school. We switched schools for senior year since they had more to offer my son (between robotics classes, more computer classes, and forensic science, we knew we didn't want him to miss out on the opportunity). All of the teachers and staff are friendly and communication and responses are always quick. We have felt welcome since the beginning and Jennifer has gone out of her way at each event to personally come talk to me and make sure I'm doing ok. What could be an extremely stressful transition has been nothing but smooth and reassuring. I also appreciate the weekly reports sent directly to me and my son which helps to ensure nothing get overlooked or missed and I know what is going on in all of his classes.

I wish we had made the switch sooner and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a school who wants their children to be engaged in their classes, given opportunities to grow, not only in sports, but other extra curricular, subjects, and events. Check them out if you're considering a Christian focused education in the greater Charlotte area.

We love WCCS! Both of my daughters are part of the early childhood program and are thriving. Their teachers are like family and we know that they are receiving amazing care and instruction every day, while also having so much FUN. My 4 year old loves school and her teachers and classmates so much! The culture at WCCS is special and it is a very welcoming environment. The staff are all excellent at their jobs, but also demonstrate such care, intentionality, and creativity with the children. I love knowing that my children are learning about Jesus and having the truth of God's word woven into every aspect of their learning, play, and relationships.

From the moment my daughter joined the school community, we were welcomed with open arms and a sense of belonging. The teachers are great and deeply committed to the care and development of the students. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that my daughter feels challenged and supported.

Amazing!!! WCCS has been a blessing for our family and we are thrilled to be a part of this school. I just cant express enough how much I love WCCS. You can just tell how much the teachers, staff and administration genuinely care for the students. This is the second year for my son (5k) and the first year for my daughter (2k). Although it hasnt been the smoothest road, they have helped transition me and my children in the best way possible, accommodating us at every step. They are understanding, patient, loving, and uphold the values of the Christian faith and Im so grateful for that. Its more than a school, its a family. I wouldn't want my children to be anywhere else, truly!

After leaving our past school abruptly after the start of the new school year, we looked at several options for our elementary age child. Throughout the entire process of touring schools, applying for admission, and being accepted, WCCS stood out. From our first interaction, WCCS has been warm and welcoming, abundantly clear about its mission of teaching students to walk the way of Jesus, and committed to creating a fun yet academically rigorous environment for our children. After starting at WCCS, we have been nothing but incredibly impressed by the school, its leadership, the teachers, and the students and their families who have warmly welcomed us. Our child has made so many wonderful friends and has found his place in the classroom in a way that he had not at his prior schools. We are so grateful to have found WCCS!

Westminster has been a great experience for our family. The school is Christ-centered in the education as well as the way students are treated (discipline, care, made to feel welcome). We have LOVED our time so far and are so glad we found a school that supports the values we teach our kids in the home. The staff truly cares about our students and will follow up quickly with both positive things as well as things that need to be worked on (both academically as well as in character and everyday things).

We have four children enrolled at WCCS, ranging in ages between 2nd and 12th grades. We are very pleased with the school. Our children are getting a great education while enjoying the benefits of lower student/teacher ratios in a nurturing environment that also reinforces our faith and the principles we are teaching at home.

I have two kids at WCCS. This is our first full year and we are loving the experience. The staff is warm and welcoming. They really care about the students. My son is in middle school, which can be a hard/awkward time, but he is thriving and enjoying it so much. The teachers and staff at the upper school are always there to help. They make the students feel loved and welcome. It has been wonderful to see both of my kids grow throughout the year.

We have three children in preschool and elementary school at Westminster Catawba Christian School and this is our 7th year enrolled at WCCS. We are very happy with our children's experience and education at WCCS. The teachers in the preschool and elementary school are very professional, caring, warm, and kind to the children. Our children are receiving an excellent education that is challenging but very engaging. Each child is cared for personally and valued as a unique individual and child of God. We are very happy at WCCS and thankful that our children can attend.

Great experience touring the Lower WCCS Campus with Jane for our now 2-year-old daughter. Jane answered all of our questions and eased our minds and hearts by showing us around the school and childcare facility. We were thoroughly impressed and we are eager to watch as our daughter grows throughout the school year. If you are looking for a loving and compassionate school then look no further. Our family has felt loved and appreciated since day one!! WCCS has brought so many new friends and families into our lives in a short time at WCCS. We have a child attending as a Kindergartener and have re-enrolled him for the next year. We like the school so much that we will be transferring our toddler to their pre-school for the Fall 2023. We are pleased with the quality of the curriculum as well as incorporation of a Biblical worldview into all lessons.

WCCS is a wonderful school. It is a good environment with clean well maintained buildings. Great instruction is provided. The children experience core subjects, bible, games, reading, playground time. There are clubs for elementary school, with choices from drama to fitness and prayer groups. There is a good variety of electives for the middle and upper schoolers ( STEAM LAB, sports psychology and art were some of the ones that appealed to my child this year). In terms of number of students, I feel the school is small enough so children are known and know others by their names but big enough to provide social and athletic opportunities. As a parent, I am extremely grateful for the extraordinary people my children interact with daily. Teachers are very committed and loving. My children look forward to Chapel days, feel comfortable to talk to the dean, are able to access the principals and other staff when they feel the need to. We have been very happy with the education that our children have received while attending WCCS. We started our children at WCCS in kindergarten and now we have one in elementary and one middle school. The teachers really work to help the children succeed... many even offer extra instructional time after school if needed. Our son is involved in many of the middle school sports and that has been a lot of fun for the whole family. I am so glad to have this kind of high quality private education in our city.

My middle school aged kids look forward to going to school! Since it is a smaller school, they say they are friends with everyone and their class is like a big family. They have strong connections with their teachers and I am so grateful that they are around adults who truly care for them and are teaching them the same Christian values we are teaching at home. The school intentionally works on both executive functioning skills and social emotional skills which are lessons that will not only help them navigate middle school, but help them in life. We love WCCS!

We chose WCCS because of the biblical values they instill in children through daily interaction. We clearly see that Jesus is at the heart of all decisions made for the betterment of the school and our children. As parents, it is wonderful to know you've left your most precious possessions in the hands of those with the heart of the Father. It just doesn't get better than that. We love seeing our children soar in so many areas of study, especially learning biblical principles, Bible verses and stories. As well as gaining the knowledge in their studies (math, L.A., social studies, science etc.) that will allow them to be His hands and feet in todays society. It has been amazing to see God at work in our experience with WCCSfrom the admissions process through his first year at school, our son has always felt loved, safe, well taken care of, well educated, and well discipled in Christ. The small class sizes, curriculum, and individualized instruction have truly helped our son thrive in and out of the classroom. In addition to his kindergarten teacher, all faculty and staff treat him like hes one of their own from the moment hes dropped off in the morning to the time we pick him up at the end of the school day. Our son started preschool at WCCS in August, and we are so very thankful for the staff and administration. Every day he gets in the car excited to tell me about his day and all that he learned. He is learning so much academically, but also biblically. I am so impressed that even in early childhood education he is receiving music, physical education, Spanish, and library each week. I knew WCCS would be a good fit for our family, but I underestimated how blessed I would feel each day that he goes to a school where love is poured into him.

After moving to Rock Hill, WCCS was highly recommended so we decided to enroll my daughter in the preschool program. That was 6 years ago and we have added 2 additional children to our family and WCCS. We left WCCS for one year for Kindergarten, but missed it and decided to come back. The education was sufficient at the other school, but we missed the family feel of WCCS (in addition to the great education). It is so wonderful to feel a part of the school where your children attend. We've experienced a few health issues and it was great to have help and understanding from the school.

Absolutely! The school has taken steps to help my daughter with catching up on her math. In changing schools from another state, some of the learning was lagged. The school has done everything that I have requested and beyond to ensure that the gap is closed and my daughter excels in her studies.

We have been at WCCS for nine years. We love WCCS! The teachers and staff are so supportive and truly love each child. We are very grateful for the small class sizes that give more opportunity for one on one attention. Wonderful experience. The teachers really care about the students as individuals. Learning is age-appropriate. The ones and twos classes are building emotional skills and teaching children how to love one another. My daughter is 3 and already has an understanding of Biblical truths thanks to the teaching and love from her teachers.

I have not personally dealt with this matter but I would imagine they would be wonderful- the learning is individualized and they cater to each child's needs very well. Teachers interact with parents and provide feedback and regular updates so I would imagine if there was a learning difference it would be handled in a loving way and as a team with the faculty.

I wasted many years of my life at this over-priced school. I got bullied beyond belief in this Christian school. I had text books stolen from me, which they tried to make me pay for. I had stuff thrown out of my locker since the lockers dont have locks on them. I was cyber bullied too. There wasnt a lot of classes to choose from either. One of my teachers didnt even have a teaching degree. This school is also very small and there tends to be little cliques of students. When I transferred to public school, I was amazed that there was no bullying, stealing, or cliques. In my later high school years I noticed more and more people from WCCS coming to public school. Bottom line- its not as Christian as it appears to be and DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

WCCS is an amazing school! My son has learned so much and his teachers are great at what they do. It is obvious that they care for each child as an individual. I would love for my children to attend WCCS for the duration of their education but the cost of tuition will not allow me to keep them there. They offer financial aid but it is difficult for a family that does not show need yet does not have alot of extra money. Otherwise, I recommend it to anyone. It is a great place for you child to be nurtured into caring compassionate productive citizens.

Our family has been at WCCS for eleven years, and our kids are in high school, middle school, and grade school. Every year we are more and more grateful that we have been blessed to have our children at this school. The teachers are phenomenal, dedicated professionals who care about each child. The coaches are awesome role models for the kids. The new Head of School is a wonderful, godly leader for the school. The kids love and care for each other, and the school environment is welcoming, safe, and kind. It's rare to find academic rigor combined with Christ-centeredness, but this school has it! We could not be happier with our choice to attend WCCS -- it is more than worth the cost!

I am a student in 9th grade at WCCS. I think that it's a good school with a good environment. The teachers are nice and are good at teaching their subject. Because the school isn't as large as some other public schools, I am able to get to know the other students better. I feel like I'm learning a lot in my classes, and I am able to get to know my teachers as well. I think that Westminster Catawba Christian School is a great school with a friendly environment for the students there.

I am a WCCS parent of three children spanning from grade school to high school. We have been at the school for over nine years, and all of our children have been at WCCS since Kindergarten. We are very well-informed about what is offered at other schools in the area, and I can honestly say that the academics, environment, and integration of a Christian world view at WCCS are outstanding. The teachers are phenomenal, dedicated, well-qualified individuals who love the Lord and love the kids. Most of them have Master's degrees, and some at the high school level have doctorates. The high school honors classes have been excellent. The school has improved tremendously in the last year under the leadership of the highly-qualified interim head of school, and the new head of school has an excellent track record of exceptional leadership at another competitive private school in the area. As parents, we are excited to see what additional positive changes will come under the incoming head of school. WCCS is filled with great kids, kind, smart teachers, and caring administrators who make sending your kids to school a joy for parents.

Thank God for the wonderful changes at WCCS. We have been at WCCS for our entire school experience (10 years so far) and although we went through a trying time under the previous administration where we were concerned about the school, we couldn't be happier now. The academic standards under the new administration are higher than they have ever been, and they even have a highly qualified former university professor teaching the AP and Honors math courses. The current administration is very focused on providing a top quality education in a strongly Christian environment and you can see the results in the attitudes and behavior of the students. I would not hesitate to recommend this school.

WCCS has academic standards set very low. I have seen students struggle when they get to college because they are not prepared to handle the academics at a higher level. From the administration on down, there is a notion that they are doing you a favor by allowing your child to attend WCCS and assumptions are always made that parents or children are the ones with problems, not the school. The administration and particularly the board, fails to honestly assess their strengths and weaknesses, instead they simply decide that everything they do is good and if people fail to recognize it then they must be stupid. Enrollment has declined by over 50% in the last 5 years so the school focuses on new families that are new to the community or church to replace the ever turning revolving door that exists at the school. I do not recommend WCCS nor do I see Christian characteristics coming from either the administration or support staff.

The kids at my school are friendly and welcoming. The teachers are really nice and take the time to explain difficult things. The teams are good--the volleyball team just won the state championship. The Bible instruction is helpful and the teachers are good at helping us understand hard concepts. The play was amazing. Kids from here get into really good colleges.

WCCS recently hosted Pastors Appreciation Day during chapel. It was amazing to see over 30 pastors from different churches attend the chapel service, and then gather with students from their congregation to pray with them. I am so glad that WCCS addresses students spiritual needs while at the same time offering strong academic training.

A fresh breeze is blowing at Westminster Catawba Christian School with the change in administration. There has been a return to Christ-centered values and solid teaching. The academic focus has produced increased scores on national exams. There has always been a sweet spirit on the elementary campus and now we feel that same camaraderie and trust on the middle and high school campus. The students are wonderful kids who are valued. Teachers put forth significant effort to meet individual needs of their students. We truly believe the Lord has called us to be here. We know there is always room for improvement, but I am so very grateful for this place!

WCCS is a problematic institution. It is surprising that it has muddled through the dirt thus far. The problem is quite obvious. Instead of dealing with parenting or faculty concerns, depending on who you are, any genuine concerns that the leaders don't want to hear are covered up, marginalized, ignored, etc. In other words nothing ever gets dealt with leaving the school always in damage control mode. The other problem is too much negative church control. The administration constantly has to play politics between the church and board not allowing them the opportunity to lead. The best solution is for.someone .someone to for.someone to buy out the school from the church like several other christian schools have done and watch wccs take off.

Westminster has been a school where our children have thrived. As any parent knows, each child is unique and the interests and God-given talents they possess are better developed when they are given an opportunity to express them in a supportive community. My children have attended WCCS for 6 years and in that time I have seen them grow leadership and character through the classes, Bible studies, student government, the stage, sports and a terrific Odyssey of the Mind program. I am also a huge fan of the school's emphasis on expanding my kids global view. A student exchange program that brings foreign students to study at WCCS brought 13 students from China, South Korea, Vietnam, & Spain last year and international missions opportunities are offered annually.

Our family moved here two years ago from a wonderful Christian school. We chose WCCS for our son for a couple of reasons. The main reason was that WCCS is a Christian school. We wanted him to stay in an environment that teaches a Christian world view rather than a secular one. The other reason we selected WCCS was that our previous Head of School impressed upon us the importance of choosing an accredited school with SACS and ACSI. Lastly, the tuition was not nearly as much as the Christian schools in Charlotte. Our daughter, who tried a year of public school her freshman year, is now attending WCCS as well. She said it feels like she came back home.

My youngest child will graduate from WCCS this year. Both of my children went all the way from preschool to graduation there, and I am so thankful. My husband and I have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the school and have never had a moment of regret with regards to sending our children there! I am a former graduate of Westminster. I believe that I'm entitled to dedicate one of my first sentences of this review to explain how upset I am by this school, and how much it has declined since I started there. I began attending Westminster when I was in 4-year old kindergarden. I attended for my entire schooling, and also graduated there as I stated before. I used to love this school. I made many friends throughout the years who I still am contacted with today. What I am here to write about is the administration. I cannot explain how this school and its administration irritates me. The administration has completely fallen and lost all track of caring for students and having a godly attitude in anything that they do. I beg of you to not send your children here, because you will definitely regret it. I absolutely despised my Junior and Senior year, as I learned absolutely nothing. Very few good teachers remain. Be weary.

My family has been committed to a Christian education for our children. After our experience at WCCS we are now rethinking our commitment. Our children have attended WCCS since preschool and all seemed to be well at the school until the current administration entered the picture. We have since experienced poor teaching practices, favoritism of students and teachers, and morally bankrupt leadership. We have been required to hire private tutors for certain classes because of the poor teaching. Enrollment has dropped drastically low, way lower than the number you have listed on your website. Good teachers remain, but many have been let go replaced with poor teachers that fall in line with the administration's agenda. If we could start over we would have attended public school. It couldn't be any worse than our experience.

I am a student at WCCS. I have been at this school my whole life. I used to love it. The students are very close because of the size of the school. The teachers used to be close to the students. If you had a problem you could always go to one of the teachers you were closest to and get help. Then the new administration came. Now many of the wonderful teachers are gone, replaced by poor teachers. They are not aloud to be as close to the students. There have been many incidents between students. The administration doesn't do anything about it. The teachers let the students get away with things they do just like the administration such as bullying. The administration, I know for a fact, has threatened people too. They have coaches that definitely do not show Christian characteristics making some students scared and not want to play sports. The dress code is different now because the old one was not even enforced and neither is this one. There is so much more negative than positive at this school now. I wish I could warn you more about it. Christian school? It either needs to live up to its name or remove the Christian part. That is going down hill fast. I am ready to leave.

As a former student, I have to say that WCCS really prepared me academically for college-level work. I currently attend a state university and the work here is nothing compared to the rigorous work I did in my high school years. Unfortunately, their science and math department is a bit lacking. Teachers are highly critical of the theory of evolution and they will probably shove Young Earth Creationism down your throat every chance they get. However, you WILL learn how to write, study, work hard, and organize yourself professionally. The school is also terribly lacking in diversity of opinion within the student body. Like any high school there are tons of bullies, cliques, and very hypocritical "two-faced" individuals who ridicule anyone who is "different" which can really wreck one's spiritual life after years of dealing with it. Students will have some tearful Christian "revivals" one day and then be calling each other names and going out getting wasted and partying the very next. Luckily, there are a few teachers who are incredibly friendly and supportive and make the long, hard journey worth it all.
