We had plans on attending a different school, after unforeseen circumstances we found Heritage Baptist. We are so blessed for the way things happened and the opportunity to be a part of this wonder school! The entire faculty and staff pour so much love into every student. The academics, social, and emotional growth we’ve seen has exceeded our expectations. The foundation for phonics, numbers sense, and a love for Christ couldn’t be better.

This school was recommended by my son's 1st grade teacher when he was overwhelmed by large public school classes. We transferred mid-year and have continued since. Every day is not perfect but teachers communicate and collaborate with me to address his needs. My son has some challenges but they were honest and willing to try to work with him. He is blossoming and making friends within his small class. He knows that his teachers love him, and that he is safe there even when he makes mistakes. Academically, I am happy that the school teaches cursive. They teach mathematics the way I remember learning so I can actually help with homework. Each student has an Ipad to work on applications to enhance learning and that is something my son looks forward to. What is truly priceless is that he asked me if I knew how the story of Joseph in the Bible went. I pretended I could not remember, so he told me. Those moments make me certain of the decision to sacrifice a bit to make sure I can send him here.

My daughter is now in 5th grade and has been enrolled since Pre-K. We love this school. My son started Pre-K this year. I wouldn't trust any other school with my kids!

The children are challenged but not overwhelmed. The student to teacher ratio really allows more time for each child to learn at their own pace.

The teachers at HBA are so caring. They are genuinely interested in preparing our children for the next stages in life. Not just learning but also growing as individuals, as Christians, as human beings. The teachers here really care about their students!

I have personally dealt with past graduates of HBA. They generally leave being prepared for the world. They are taught to depend on God and to also put forth effort to drive towards their life goals. The mascot for Heritage Baptist Academy, HAWKS is also an acronym.
Honesty-Attentiveness-Wisdom-Kindness-Safe
I would say that my children's character has been affected in a very positive way!

The Dean is also the Pastor of the church. What better leader of men can you ask for? He has a unique way about him that is perfect for guiding young folks.

Yes they do. The class sizes are small so the students can get that integral one on one time with their teachers! Many parents have told me horror stories about trying the city/county schools and how it affected their child. When they enrolled at Heritage, they had new hope for the child's learning. The teachers are patient and very caring!

Bullying is not permitted. If it happens, it is addressed ASAP. Parents are involved and ways to deal with the incident are discussed. Every effort is made to help every person involved understand the situation.

Have three children at Heritage that have all gone to this school since kindergarten. I highly recommend. The teachers go above and beyond and really genuinely care about their students. Love the small class size and excellent curriculum. We looked into just about every private Christian school in the area when we were looking for the best school to send our children to- very happy. Kids love it too!

Teachers work hard to help students who struggle and students who need to be challenged. My son came into class the first week and said to his math teacher, we've already learned everything up through lesson 40. She said you are right but I will need to cover it for all the new students and those those that struggled last year. Each day during those lessons she gave him a math riddle to work out!

Teachers at HBA encourage excellence from their students. They also go out of their way to help the students achieve that excellence. The school is small and may not have all the bells and whistles of bigger schools, but I don't send my children to school for bells and whistles. I send them to be educated and to learn to become more like Jesus Christ. My children have received an excellent education.

Must be small for a reason! Lots of students in pre-school and early programs and dramatically drops off as grade school goes up!!! A lot of the workers are related: Pastor, Principal, Education coordinator, Church Secretary and some teachers. 2 or 3 grades are taught in the same class room at the same time by the same teacher. Some of the courses are taught by DVD - even in elementary. Save your money and just us an online homeschool!

My daughter started at Heritage at k4. She is now going to be in the third grade. The teachers a have all been very supportive and have gone above and beyond to see that she gets whatever extra help she needs to explain something. I like the small class sizes, but would like to see the combined grade classes seperated as I believe that it does somewhat hinder the learning some.

I am thrilled with the low teacher-student ratio... often fewer than 10:1. Upper elementary students read with lower elementary students. Emphasizes making choices God's way. My son, going into third grade, is reading books from the 5th grade classroom. I have seen the principal meet and work with elementary students... and he also teaches high school math (due to his background as an engineer).

My experience with this school has been less than satisfactory. The disciplinary actions this school takes against bullying is very questionable.There were several instances of direct bullying towards my child that were constantly brushed under the table by the teacher and the principal. I was even given the option by a teacher to go to another school instead of working together to solve the problem at hand. Staff at this school did not acknowledge issues that may have affected my childs learning ability and his saftey. This school would rather you as a parent compromise your values rather than adress and solve the problem.

My first grade son is reading chapter books to his toddler brother. Thanks HBA for phonics emphasis. Also strong emphasis on doing things God's way. Great foundations for the rest of his life. Easy access to teachers, principal, etc.
