I graduated from this school before. While I was in this school, I saw my map test grades grow a lot and I learned a lot of new stuff and my STAAR results were amazing all because of this school and how much the teachers help us prepare. In 7th grade when I was a new student, I hated English class and I performed poorly but in 8th grade the teacher helped me and supported me and gave me tutoring and helped me with a lot of stuff, and by January I was doing incredible in English class and I even got my first 100 on an English assignment and I started to like English and it became my favourite subject and it is still my favourite subject to this day. The only negative about this school in my opinion is that the punishments are really strict, In 7th grade when I was a new student, it was the first time that I ever moved and I didn't understand the unwritten rules and I got bullied for it and people hated me and reported me for stuff I didn't do and I didn't know how to defend myself against their allegations and the assistant principal gave me an In-school-suspension for 3 days over something I didn't do or say. So, overall, it is a good school and a nice place to learn. Just be careful of the people there.

This school is filled with criticism and negativity. It seems like there are way too many students misbehaving, and the school claims they dont tolerate it, but honestly, it feels like they do. As a student, I experience this firsthand, and its really frustrating. The teachers often dont listen to our concerns, and the counselors arent really helpful when it comes to dealing with feelings. For example, I wanted to change one of my electives that I wasnt interested in, but when I asked for help, nothing changed. Even friends of mine have tried and failed. Only one elective change happened, and while it made sense, theres still confusion about why others cant be changed. The overall environment feels harsh. It seems like the school focuses on punishment rather than understanding students needs. We often get yelled at for not doing something, yet the staff sometimes doesnt follow the same rules they set for us. Its really unfair, especially when we are expected to clean up after ourselves in the cafeteria while it feels like were being treated like kids who need to be controlled. I want parents to think carefully before sending their children to this school. I believe that they should know about the issues here, so they can make the best choice for their kids. While I might get in trouble for sharing my thoughts, I feel like its important for us students to voice our concerns. It shouldnt be scary to talk about whats going on. I hope that the administration at Coppell Middle School West can make some changes to improve things for the students. It shouldnt feel like a place where we cant express our feelings or where we feel trapped. Its not just me who feels this way; I believe many students share these frustrations.

This school gives technology gadgets (ipads and tons of portals to login without any clue as to what is what) to the kids and little to none from teachers in imparting education. Worst for special education. Nice building, nice gadgets and nothing else. For value added education, look somewhere else.

Teachers give detention for simple reasons causing the student to not understand the truly bad behavior

Principal and teachers are least bothered in improvising the experiences of students and creating leaders of tomorrow. Their focus is rating which is naturally attained by the excellent students that attend here

This school is filled with dedicated teachers and staff trying to meet the needs of EVERY individual student. Student and parent must participate to achieve a goal of education and preparation for entry into young adulthood. Attendance and particapation is a key to learning, listening is a key to advancement. Some teachers and some students do not ALWAYS click as some parents are not always supportive of the teachers required goals and methods of teaching. Grass is not always greener, but grows with care and feeding and support from all. Change is good progress in learning and maturity is goal. West challenges students to grow and improve.

This school is filled with teachers that don't teach and have a high attitude. Go to North it will be better.

Coppell Middle School West has served the academic needs of my two boys during these past two years. We were impressed with the leadership of the principal ---- and educators leading the school campus designing rigorous and engaging learning experiences for the kids. Lots of clubs and extra-curricular educational opportunities. My boys enjoyed their particiaption in both band and choir, along with their involvement in the school's athletic activities. Relationships between teachers, coaches and students are valued. Strong Parent-Teacher Organization. Highly recommended.

The teachers are very critical and problematic. They give hard time to both parents and the students. Not much willing to help, even if the child genuinely needs help.

My three children enjoyed their years at WEST. Caring staff and a strong sense of community among students, staff and parents. Many extra curricular activities and clubs for students to belong to. Administrators and counseling staff provide many parenting activities and opportunities for growth also. Communication from teaching staff and administration with parents and students. One of my children had special needs and we were pleased with efforts of the entire staff. Highly recommended for all students.
