When my stuff got lost they didn't do anything and most of your stuff when you lose it they don't put it in lost and found place so ot will be much harder to find stuff . Over the year I lost my lunchbox and my fan I told the principal and the staff that I lost it and I checked every place I went to and that is the lunch I had and I was not allowed to buy lunch but they still didn't help me find it and other time someone stole my yele sweatshirt and they still didn't do anything not even looked at the camera to see it was so annoying to loose all of those staff. I hope non of you who go to Scoggins Middle school will not lose your staff and stay in the same situation as me, i really hope this year they will do much better with this matter.

I am a 7th grader at this school. This is one of my first years here and it already sucks! I've heard some really bad reviews about the school before I came here and I didn't think anything of it. Until I came to the school. One of my friends was drinking the fruit punch and they serve them in these cups she thinks it tastes like aluminum foil until she opens it and there's mold floating around in it like it belongs in there! Whenever we come to lunch some days the food smells so bad that they have to open the door so let it air out and some kids start gagging! I this one kid used to target me and force me to apologize to him after I did nothing. I reported him to the counselors 2 TIMES! And they did absolutely nothing! So eventually my dad had to yell at this kid and he finally stopped bothering me. The teachers give you way too much work to the point where kids including me get stressed so much that they get to the point of tears. If you have any activities out of school, they don't care. You're busy after school, they don't care! They load you up with so much work that it's crazy. They are not supposed to assign 3 or more tests on the same day. But apparently they don't follow that. I once had four tests in the same day. I passed all of them but it was really stressful having to study for all those subjects. The teachers try their best to discipline the children but the children are just ruthless! They don't care, they give teachers attitude, and they think that they run the school. Out of everything this school is pretty good but it's not the best.

I wish I can give 0 star to this school because since they change about the lunches there is there is a rag outside. U can drop the lunch there I even write my son name on his lunch and I let them know But no one Ask my son to come pick up his lunch o call him worse staff ever this is the second time its happening waste of time waste of money to buy the food and drop it for my son. He end up with no lunch and then I called them they front and said just come take it. Its still over there. Come on the lunch has been there for like more than three hours.

Had a daughter receiving special ed services that attended for 6-8. Was constantly bullied but admin had no control nor authority over the situations. Was physically assaulted in 7th grade. Had to press assault charges against the attacker. Classroom management isn't controlled or managed by the teachers. Her anxiety was at the highest level when she was there. Names and slurs spoken to her in the hallways and in the classrooms. Students using profanity and the teachers not reprimanding the students. Fights that occurred among students. Her case manager was nice but wasn't proactive in helping her when she needed assistance. Definitely if you have other school options take it.

honestly i like scoggins. There may be kids doing drugs, there may be kids affiliated with gangs in the school, and there my be fighting a lot, but the world is not perfect. If you want your kid to find out how to survive in the real world then send them here. I am at this school, and i am doing perfectly fine. After figuring out how to survive it got pretty easy. I affiliated with a gang inside of the school, i fought multiple times. Now i am not scared anymore. I am ready to face life head on. I am not afraid of high school anymore as well. There are only limited ways to survive. The best way to get through the year at this school is to hang with a group. Get with your friends and stick together. I and my friends started a crew after being threatened by another group. We started boosting each others confidence and had enough courage to tell the other people to stop. After they didn't stopped and stabbed one of my friends with scissors, we all started freaking out. so we instead did the same thing to them. this eventually led to a war by stabbing each other till a teacher sees you. I am not saying that this is what you have to do, but i am saying that you have to show people that you are not afraid. overall its a alright school.

The school is horrible at responding to actual problems appropriately. When there is a child interrupting class, the school teachers always tell them to be quiet and not do anything when they do it again.

Warning to elementary school parents: DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. It's super unsanitary and the food is either frozen or lukewarm, it tastes like cardboard, and they cost way too much money. Most of the staff here are nice to you, (shoutout to mrs reed for being the best teacher ever) but they can't always handle the kids. Speaking of the kids, they always try and fight each other. This whole slime/ Rubix cube thing has to come to an end as well. I honestly really love the counselors here but I don't think they're taking our problems as seriously as they should be. A girl in my grade is getting sexually assaulted and attacked everyday by only one kid. And what have the counselors done? Nothing too serious, because if they had done anything like that, she wouldn't be afraid to come to school. Homework is a big issue when it comes to this school, because they give you WAY too much, and so little time to do it. Have extracurricular activities? They clearly don't care. Have therapy? They don't care. The kids are extremely disrespectful to the teachers, and think that they can do anything they want. The elective programs aren't really an issue, but it can be hard work. As said in the beginning of my review, don't send your child here unless you want them to truly have some of the worst years of their life.

School work is very good, teachers have their kids stay focused. Bullying is not good, kids are mean and will laugh at you and talk bad about you right in your face. There is not much fights maybe only 1 a month, school has a good punishment system for bad kids. School lunch is nice. Kids are too obnoxious and think they have authority and are all special. Learning is good in this school, but not the kids. Activities like band, art, orchestra, and theatre are good.

Terrible school. Principals and Vice Principles have no idea what they're doing and there's absolutely no discipline. Kids get away with everything and no one does anything about it. This school needs to be saved, if not, shut down. These poor kids have to live in an environment where fighting and stealing is tolerated and it's not okay. Please do not come to this school.

Literally the worst school ever... everyone is leaving because of the constant fights, inappropriate behavior, and teachers doing nothing. I got beat up 2 times in a single week I had to get a safety transfer, and one of the people that beat me up got handcuffed and arrested on the spot. this school is so f`ed up. and there is inappropriate drawing everywhere. I hope this school gets fixed or shuts down.

Scoggins refuses to enforce any rules. Students are not disciplined and their behavior affects everyone. Teachers give nothing but worksheets. This school has the worst culture for students and its teachers. New leadership is needed to rescue this place.

My son has ADHD, is part of the 504 program, is well-behaved, and is properly medicated. He has always struggled to maintain B's, and I know that Scoggins is a huge factor that has contributed to his success. The combination of professionalism, communication, dedication, and care from the teachers, counselors, and administration is the best, hands down. I have had experience dealing with all three groups at this school. My son attended Allen ISD and Plano ISD prior to Frisco ISD, and I'm a teacher in Plano ISD. I have never been so happy with a school. We are looking forward to his 8th grade year.

Honestly, as a 7th grader, staff must realize many things. First of all, do they not realize kids could have mental issues? I, myself, am diagnosed with a few illnesses. I truly think kids shouldn't be stressed to the limit of tears, and that their mental health should come first. And the fact you cannot trust ANYONE, does not help. Second of all, the fights and "annoying" students in class. Physical fights happen in hallways from time to time, anywhere. It can even cause other students harm; as for experience, I was in the hallways in 6th grade, until a kid threw another and they ran into me-I hit the ground hard and no one bothered to help. Figures.
Kids never shut up. And even if they do, they always snirk and giggle at each other, it doesn't help. I don't care if you think you're top class, if you don't want to work, don't. But you won't always be successful in life either, unless you already know that. Thirddd of all, please, teachers, don't stress kids out so much. If you see they're suffering, help them out. Don't give us so much work, it may be easier for you and others kids, but not for everyone.
There's just so many issues at this school that bother me and others - Wish I could explain them all but it might be too long? Also, if I get caught, I could care less. I'm just sick of this.
Watch out for what kids say about others. Seriously. You don't know what it could do.

P.S. dress code rules. Come on. Torn jeans won't even count when it shows no skin?? And shoulders?? Ok. No.
Sorry but, this school could be better.

The one star I'm giving this is for the music program. Overpopulated,too many racist kids, they will immeaditely accuse you of NOTHING without proof. SOME good teachers. Horrible counselers who do nothing but get into your business. You know who you are,yes,I'm talking about you. Back up horrible teachers who are in the wrong. Only give you about 1 pass a week for restroom/emgerencies. Not pleasant to be sitting in class filled with that five gallon drink you drank at lunch and know you're out of passes. 4 minutes a passing period. Hardly enough. 3 tardies and you go to Thursday night school "to reflect on what you've done" so I'm in trouble for going to the restroom and get late for relieving myself. I'm such a bad kid. Horrible. Just horrible. Actually disappointed.

I've been very impressed so far. Teacher involvement is wonderful. The principle seems very friendly and willing to help. It really seems like an excellent environment for the children to learn and grow.

This is an excellent school with amazing faculty. Coach Evans is an amazing mentor to the children. I moved to this area because of the school district and it was the best decision of my life. My child has gone to Scoggins from 6th grade to 8th grade. They are very strict but they will get to know your child and help realize a students true potential. Anyone would be blessed for their child to have the opportunity to attend a school like Scoggins.

Don't let the past reviews fool you - you'll find disgruntled parents at every school. The school is run effeciently. There are strong educators and leaders on the campus. We have one year of Scoggins under our belt and my son has never been happier about school. I'm sure we'll have bumps in the road, but the ultimate responsibility lies with me and my son to make the most out of this middle school learning experience. While snapshot scores don't reveal the whole picture, Scoggins' exemplary rating is by no accident.

My daugter opened this school in 2008 and had a great 8th grade year. My son is now in 7th grade and has had an ok time there. Most teachers are nice, but they don't make enough time for the kids.Some of them dont respond to emails unless more than one is sent. I am sure it because they have way to much to do not that they don't want to do it. Being there for Tutorials, meetings and a regular school day it makes long days for them. The Athletics program is awesome, all the Coaches are great expecially Coach Evans. He truly cares about the kids and their grades and makes the sport secondary which I love. School should always be first.

Hello, I just wanted to say how a while back. My son was outside when a hurt bird was walking around. And someone told the principal that he was trying to step on it. Without proof she pulled him in after school and began yelling at him. Then she called me and yelled at me. Afterwards she put me on speaker to hear what I had to say, but luckily I'm bilingual and so is my son. This school will call you for every little thing they see as a problem. It's terrible.

Hello I am an eighth grade student from Scoggins. This school is probably the worst in the dristrict. I mean there are no fights, no drug problems, but in terms of the Adminastration? It's terrible. They're always angry, and they always push us to do things that we never have a Problem with in the first place. Such as the Bullying program, and telling us to keep our hands to ourself. I got in trouble for giving my friend a hug once. They will acuse you even without proof, and punish you. 4 minutes in between each class to get your books, go to the bathroom, and by that you're sprinting to each class. Then a teacher stops you and tells you to go back and walk. Then OOPS! You're late. Then rather than going to your class, it's apparently necessary to walk all the way down to the office, wait 3 minutes for a tardy pass, than walk back up. Missing at least 5-10 minutes of class. A new school opened up near by, and we had kids literally attacking those forms. Some good friends of mine said they're willing to actually drive 4 miles to the new school just to get away from this one. I only gave 2 stars because the Athletics program is good. But coaches will punish you. Expect complaining.
