This is a bad school. The assistant principle is the worst. The don't care about us students. We cant even sit with our friends at lunch! She is also very mean and yells a lot! Terrible school environment. She needs to get fired immediately!

This school definitely gives us opportunities! It's a matter of whether or not we take them. I like the current principal, and I think this year was an example of how great O'banion ms can really be.

Overall a great school in 2021 Despite what all the previous reviews say The school has changed drastically.

Since I was bullied badly here, and the school did nothing, and I ended up being jumped, and cyber bullied, I think this school is horrible. They have a very horrible attitude and treat the students like they are in jail. Many of the student here come from the streets and they didn't come to school to make it worse. There's so MANY fights there especially at the end of the year. Glad I made it out of this school alive, because people here threatened to kill me. I'm currently a sophomore at Mckinney High School.

I came here for my second semester of seventh grade and was severely bullied. I always reported my bullies, however the school did nothing. I ended up getting jumped. I ended up getting extremely cyber bullied. This school does not care about you, or your safety and as a young child that really hurt.

FIGHTS all the time its really annoying this school doesnt have any good qualties all the students i see are starting to get into fights who are nice and good kids but now they are starting to get into fights also in the cafeteria if you get seperated from your friend its because of the people on lunch duty who tell you not to wait to just leave them or if you have to sit at a table with just one seat left theyre going to make you get separted from your friend and then you eat lunch all by yourself sad and they won't even care at all they have done it so much.

O Banion has struggled to find its identity, but you get out of it what you put into it. I ve had a wonderful experience with sending my child to OB. The teachers go out of their way to ensure that the students have an opportunity to excel. Tutorials are offered before/after school to meet the needs of the student & parent. The principal is available & holds meetings before school to meet parents & reach out to the community. Sadly, I ve been to the meetings & see only 1 or 2 parents show up. There are over 1000 students! Where are the parents? I ve made it a point to contact my child s teachers via email & introduce myself. I make my expectations clear & ensure that there is 2 way communication. My child isn t perfect & I want the teachers to feel that they can contact me w/out me getting defensive. I want to know if they see any issues in learning or behavior. Teachers are human. Yes, they, like parents, may have their favorites. Making yourself known & available to the them helps to build a lasting relationship. The surrounding neighborhood has depreciated from upper/middle to lower/middle income families, but the level of education hasn t suffered.

Suggestion are not welcomed at this school. My child had never been in trouble until he was placed in this school. Unlike some, I admit he is not the perfect student but my child wasn't the worst either. I welcomed constructive criticism and this became a gateway to the mistreat my child. Like most kids he struggled with "identity" issues in his efforts to fit in. I had to redirect him and tell him that at a school like this, you have to definitely walk a straight line because their is no room for being a child but their is a great deal of room for trouble. They are strict out of fear, because the "majority of the students are minorities" controlled by a stereotypical facility that degrades them. There are some teachers who will single students out and take corrective on their own. The principal supports them and will redirect the problem back to it being the kids. I think in terms of good teachers, I have only found a few, in terms of office professionalism I will rate them 3. They stick together even in their wrong and seem to blatantly blow off allegations of mistreatment. Be active if you would like the best results for your child, your absence will lead to mistreatment.
