HISD will do everything to pretend. Most of the teachers are trying to be teachers and teach.
Problem is the principal and cohorts. They do not take responsibility. They will choose obvious faults while never apologizing. This is like exactly what I tried to get away from. My kid was bullied all through. I attempted to get some sort of protection. God forbid my kid gets tired of being stepped on by bullies and especially assistant principal Reardon. Always doing passive aggressive things to make us feel like we are wrong for speaking. Principal Lakeisha is nothing but a co-signer. Im disappointed. I do how ever understand now the game! Its amazing to love and back your coworkers. You are and will lose the community with these actions that you dont see!!!!

I had a child graduate from Hutto High School in 2023. She was a part of the marching band program and it was STELLAR! My child is an average learner but was always expected to do her best and to exceed her own expectations. She graduated with a certificate in child guidance that helped her land a job after high school. Her class voted a special needs student as their Homecoming King. It's a true community where kids have gone to school together since kinder.
I have a junior at Hutto High School now who takes mostly AP classes and is at the top of her class. Her experience has been the same...do your best and exceed your own expectations. She is in choir and plays golf...both programs are also STELLAR! The new principal this year is very present and sends out weekly notifications and updates. I get reminders both email and text and on my student's progress as well as happenings at the school.
I am very pleased that both of my children went to Hutto ISD K-12.

The teachers are rude, and they like to make students take the fault for their own mistakes. Also don't look for help from the counselors because they will side with the teachers.

This school is trash, they do not care about the students. They are more focused on dress code and phone use than anything else.

The isd was good about 4 yrs ago. Now that the community is older and being inundated with new residents, the teachers are not equipped to handle the influx and lost their passion to teach due to babysitting.

I love the school district. But the teacher no longer care about what happens there and couldn't care less. The principal and vice principals both do not enforce any of the rules. Especially dress code, girls walk down the hall wearing short shorts and boo one does anything unless they are bigger and then they make you change. The school was decent at one point but the kids are becoming disrespectful.
