We are thankful that our son attends Park Crest. The teachers are excellent, the classes are small, the admin is very involved. Our son is doing well academically and he is happy here. This is a great school.

I'm torn on what to put because on one hand, this school has some of the best teachers/adults I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. On the other hand, everything else was (and there's no more accurate way to put this), the WORST. If you have a quiet kid and you care about their mental health, reconsider sending them here.

If your kids are willing to work, they will do well here. This school has some of the best teachers that my son has had the privilege of learning from. We moved here from New York and have seen our son improve in all areas, but especially math and science. The principal send out weekly updates. Teachers reply to emails and calls quickly and they're empathetic to parent concerns. We have no complaints.

My son is doing very well at PCM. He likes his teachers, he has made lots of friends, and he is learning quite a lot. The curriculum is strong. He is working on things that his cousin that is 2 years ahead of him is working on at Cedar Valley Middle. We are very happy that this is our zoned middle school.

PCMS is an excellent school with fantastic teachers. The staff is knowledgeable, caring, and they're all very accessible. The class sizes are smaller than other area schools and they have a lot of experienced teachers. We love PCMS!

Park Crest has been great! We came from California and we've been very impressed by the schools here. Caring teachers that really push the kids to the next level seem to be the norm. There are low classroom ratios and a fantastic principal too. It's a refreshing change.

Over the years, we have had kids in 2 other middle schools. I would say that this is a pretty good one. Engaged and accessible teachers, a principal that cares about students and staff and an overall good vibe. The kids seem appropriately challenged (sadly, this definitely can't be said for all schools). The teachers don't all teach entirely to the test. In fact, staar testing is not brought up often at all. One of my daughter's favorite things about this school is that some of her teachers aren't afraid to veer off course and take the time to dive deeper into areas of a subject that the kids are finding interesting. As a parent, I like that too. She is learning a lot, she likes all of her teachers, and she has made some great friends along the way. We are happy with Park Crest.

This school is very sexist towards girls. If you look at the dress code it is only directed towards females. I have watched a boy walk around without a shirt and no one said anything but I went in with to tight of pants and I was dress coded. The staff is always getting on girls for things they can not control and it is not fair. They favor the boys at this school and they do NOT deserve that. The teachers do not care about your education as much as they care about the dress code. I only had two teachers out of my 2 years of being here who do not dress code every little thing. If you care about your childs mental health PLEASE do not send your kid here. Im speaking from experience.

We love Park Crest! My daughter has compared her 7th grade work with what her friend at Kelly Lane Middle school is doing and Park Crest is far ahead of them in some of the areas and on par or somewhat ahead in the rest. My daughter worked on some of the same things last year in 6th grade that they're working on this year in 7th at Kelly! That made me happy to hear. Even more important is that she likes all of her teachers and she has a great core group of friends that all study together regularly. She's doing well academically and she's happy, so we're happy too.

I have great friends! everyone is so friendly and treats me well. I have great teachers and nothing is wrong with this school. Highly recommend, very amazing, I have learned so much. This is very child friendly and there is a 1% chance of getting bullied. Shout out to Mrs.Brown, and everyone else who works here for keeping my school and everyone in it safe. Y'all are truly the best people ever.

Park Crest teachers are great! The kids that want to succeed have plenty of opportunities to excel here. We have 2 currently attending. Our kids usually have 1.5-2 hours each of homework nightly (in their opinions, far too much). Overall, they're doing well, learning a lot and each have a great group of school friends. As parents, we are happy. For those interested, there are lots of clubs and sports.

While has taken a while, I have come to appreciate all of my childs teachers at the school. I communicate with most of them at some point during each quarter as my child struggles with a lot of his academics. They almost always get back to me pretty quickly. There are some teachers I have to email multiple times but eventually get a response.

That said my son has had many issues with bullying. These range from being physically touched or pushed or knocked into to being humiliated in front of his peers to personal items being put into toilets to other items being stolen and yet others being completely destroyed and caught on camera. It has been impossible to ever get a police report for one incident that I just could . My son was never told who did it and based on the fact that he did not see anyone missing from class it appears that they were allowed to stay in class with him. I have had a Lot of trouble communicating with admin both the principal and the AP for sixth grade. Ive had to be extremely aggressivd with emailing to ever get a response about time sensitive issues (ie regarding testing, etc.) and the Response I finally got after I had to CC the actual principal made it seem as if I was making a big deal out of nothing. But this was after waiting for responses for weeks with not even so much as a We will look into itreply. Sincethe most recent and serious bullying incident that happened I have been getting more prompt responses however all of this stuff should not have had to happen for this basic level of communication. The sole reason I am having my son stay there next year is because of his teachers. I really hope admin steps it up.
I alsohope they have actual events on campus. Since schools have reopened there have been zero events. Sans the eighth grade formal and seventh/eighth grade sporting events. I have never even been to the inside of the school nor had a chance to - besides the front office and the police officers office. It has been extremely difficult for new kids that have not previously attended PFISD schools to make friends there.

Park Crest is an excellent school. The teachers all care and really go above and beyond for the kids. My daughter's previous school felt cold and unwelcoming. The teachers taught to the test and nothing more. They mentioned staar testing almost daily. If it wasn't on the test, it wasn't being taught.
At Park Crest, they go beyond that and really want the kids to have a deeper understanding, a working knowledge of what they're studying. I have come to realize that the highest rated schools are generally in the wealthiest areas and are more indicative of the socioeconomic status of the kids that attend the school, rather than the actual teaching and curriculum. My daughter is doing extremely well and she is happy here. For these reasons, I am as well.

The principal is awful. There is a lot of bullying going on and he just ignores it. I called the school several times and my requests were ignored. parents have no say in how they treat and discipline our children. I asked why my requests to meet with the principal regarding my daughter being bullied were denied and was told by him they "aren't required to meet with parents" that says a lot

My daughter was being bullied on snap chat. for several weeks. They did nothing to help her. The girl was taunting her int he hall and she turned around and told her bully to leave her alone. The principal gave both girls suspension I asked to meet with him cause I didnt feel it was fair and show the snap chat things that she was being made fun of and he ignored my request.

My daughter hates going to school at Park Crest she is a great student but the kids treat each other poorly and its a negative place. The principals treat the kids poorly I have witnessed it myself at social events.

We became part of the park crest family this year, my sons 7th grade year. He has a variety of special needs, both physical (unseen) and mental, behavioral and more. He needs a lot of additional support and has received everything he needs to be successful in the transition, but truly in his entire school career. He is the happiest he has ever been in school and he is taken care of through every need. It is truly a blessing to have 15+ teachers and staff that have 940+ kids and treat each one with respect and meet their needs 1 on 1.

I have had at least one child at this school for the past several years. This year we got a new principal, and almost immediately the atmosphere on campus changed. It may be due to new leadership or maybe it was the mass exit of a large number of very outstanding teachers, but the warmth and friendliness of the school has disappeared. All the staff and administrators seem stressed out, I don't see very many of them smiling and there is a huge lack of communication to parents, via website and emails. I am glad our time here is almost over.

I have 1 student that graduated from this school and another currently attending. I'm very pleased with the overall staff but have huge Kudos out to Mr. Lucio and Ms. Pinner, the two Band directors. I have not seen two more dedicated instructors who expect and instill discipline in the classroom and extracurricular activities.
