The teachers are great and super supportive of the students, but a word of caution to parents of trans teens: the principal is a TERF (anti-trans). Be careful in the current climate!

Really, really, really, really great. Garza is the best. No judgement there. No drama. "Peace over conflict!"

Garza helped my gifted, but depressed, child pick himself up and try again, not just at school, but at life in general. If it weren't for Garza, he would have never made it.

After almost dropping out of one of the larger high schools in Austin, I found Garza and finally found a school that was able to work with me. The school is self paced, and allows you to take only a few classes at a time to concentrate on those. Classes are smaller and everyone knows everyone. I never saw any bulling or even a single fight in the two years I was there. I do not know that it prepared me for college, but then again I was happy just to graduate. I'm sure they have AP classes though. I went on to obtain my bachelors of science in nutrition from the University of Texas Austin, and a nursing degree from A&M. I don't know that I would have made it this far without Garza. Only con is limited extracurricular activities. No band or sports, but they do have some clubs and organizations.

I felt that the teachers and staff treated all of the students equally. They treated us like adults and did everything they could to help us graduate.

Before Garza I had given up all hope of graduating. Between family issues and being held back I had given up. The teachers did all they could to make sure I not only graduated but did it with pride. I just received my BA in computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and if not for Garza I would have never had the drive or belief in myself to keep going. I want to thank all the teachers that believed in me even when I did not. Thank you Garza staff.

Garza is amazing I was to the point of dropping out I came home one day extremely sad and wanted to give up when my mom told me I had an interview on the 3rd of April. I got accepted and went from there I have been at Garza not even a month and have completed three classes .this school is amazing. I no longer hate school and everyone is nice and we are just in there own world which helps. Thank you Garza for saving me I plan to be done in December or January:)

I can't even begin explaining how wonderful Garza is. Garza has saved my education. I attended Anderson high school for my whole freshman year and part of my sophomore year. They let me fall through the cracks because I was a slow learner. I soon heard about Garza. They welcomed me last year with open arms. I am now excelling in my courses. At Anderson high school they ignored I was continuously failing my Math TAKS, however I'm actually getting help with Math TAKS at Garza. Everybody at Garza is there to learn and prepare for their future. The staff is so fantastic and helpful. Garza makes me want to wake up in the morning and learn. I can't thank them enough for how much they've helped me in my journey. I love every moment of attending that school. Dr. Webb is the best principal ever!
