Please, for the love of God, dont send your child to this school. I attended here from 5th to 11th grade, and my entire emotional, physical, and mental health was almost completely stunted. Not only did classmates bully me for years and the school refused to do anything about it, the administration and teachers heavily bullied, harassed, and targeted me. This school caused me, as well as other classmates I knew, to despise Christianity. I switched schools for my senior year and my faith has healed since. My grades went from nearly all failing at Bay Area to straight high As. I think that says more than enough about the competency of this school.

All three of my children have attended BACS at some point. We love the school. The teachers have all poured into my children spiritually and educationally. I remember getting a phone call the second week of school from my oldest daughters second grade teacher letting me know that she had asked Jesus into her heart at chapel that day. I knew we had made the right choice.
My second child was at BACS from kinder to 8th grade. When she transferred to public school she was academically prepared in all areas. She passed her world geography AP exam and had As all year and said mom, Mr. Fuqua already taught us all of this. I also want to state that she was a challenging child (has ADHD) and has grown into a God fearing, confident, and wonderful young woman. I credit the Lord, but also everyone who poured into her at BACS.l and helped to shape all of that energy and sass into who she is today.

My son still attends (started in kinder and will likely graduate from BACS) and over the past 17 years we have seen so much growth in the school. Weve always been pleased with the way any issues have been addressed.

Im thankful for the partnership BACS has provided in educating my children but also in guiding them to know the Lord and to study his Word.

**For elementary** The academic rigor is challenging, yet achievable. They learn critical thinking in the lower grades. Yes, there is homework, but it is relevant and not "busy work."
A key difference I've noticed in BAC vs other private and/public schools, however is the way they handle any sort of behavior issue. It is restorative, not swept under the rug or shrugged off, nor do they simply throw the book at the student. When provided with the information needed, teachers and admin deal with it justly and graciously, all while the student takes responsibility for his/her actions. It certainly isn't perfect, and sometimes the authority needs more information to put a stop to whatever is going on, but they are as pro active and discerning as a group can be. I have several kids in the lower and upper elementary who have done the harm or been harmed, and the teachers and admin have done a pretty solid job handling it.

Several families shared their great experiences
at Bay Area Christian school at the time our son began kindergarten; he is now a junior at the school and he will graduate with the class of 2026. The reading and classroom materials is in alignment with our christian beliefs. The academics is challenging and it all points to God being the author and creator and sustainer of it all. The time spent at school and in after school activities and sports provides an encouraging and character building environment we want our son to participate in supporting the foundation for what we teach at home. The staff and pastors at the church and school provide incredible and Biblical worldviews in alignment for producing heart change for our students to thrive in relationships at home and in academics and beyond. The entire focus is to prepare them to attend great colleges and to do their work in an excellent manner in the workplace. The environment has always felt safe and there has been a sweet innocence and purity bubble around the campus. It is like a breath of fresh air amongst the other craziness happening in the World currently.

I went to BACS from K-8 and generally disliked it. under most of the schools notice their were handfuls of time me or my friend were bullied or talked behind each others backs. although the way they taught was great but was generally unenjoyable.

I went to BACS a couple years ago and I was bullied the entire time I attended. I was bullied not only by the students but by the faculty and staff as well.

My son is now in second grade and has attended since preschool. We love the school, the teachers and the staff. I personally went to public school and was exposed to a lot of things children shouldnt be exposed to by their peers. I dont need to worry as much with my son going to BACS. The friend groups can be a little cliquey but they do a good job mixing the kids up every year. I know they are young but I cant think of a single kid that could potentially cause issues. The parents are also awesome at making sure everyone gets included. The education is wonderful, my son is learning at his full potential. They do get a good amount of homework but its only a few pages per week. They teach cursive (which is amazing!) and they are very picky on neatness. The foreign language classes are amazing, including Mrs Price, the Spanish teacher! Lets not forget about the Christian teachings. Overall Im very happy with BACS and so is my son. He doesnt want to go anywhere else.

The school administrator seems out of touch sometimes. He needs to spend more time making the school run better and less time with long winded weekly devotions. The students at the school are being taught right and wrong but little is done to make sure they are living by it. They talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. School continues to raise tuition but not the quality.

They seem to turn a blind eye to bullying. A lot of "boys will be boys" philosophy going on. Problem at this school is that there are a lot of kids that have been going there since early grades. So they have moved up together and formed a click. Most are spoiled rich kids with no concept of reality. The school is clearly afraid to kick out kids and develop a zero tolerance policy to bullying. Most of the really good kids and families are leaving the school for public school.

The amount of homework assigned in a given week is very comparable to that given in college, so in that regard if you learn to stay on top of the homework problems in high school you should be fine in college.

I had very few teachers who emphasized critical thinking. They just gave you information and expected you to regurgitate it. This is typically shown in the college entry exams performance. The students at this school typically preform better on test which require you to memorize facts like the ACT rather than test that make you critically think like the SAT. This was admitted by the counselor my senior year when she was giving information on which entry exam to take. This is a huge problem! Especially for students who seek majors in STEM fields.

Teaching methods at this school are pretty much sink or swim. This has typically made it hard for new students to perform well their first year or two.

This school is great for preparation of the workload in college, and the level that English was taught was at the college level. I waited until my senior year of college to take another English course and was able to test out of a prereq after a quick review of my high school textbooks. Also, you have an opportunity to read some great pieces of literature. Also, the atmosphere is a lot better than the some of the surrounding public schools, and they do instill good values and character. However, critical thinking skills are not emphasized here. History was nothing more than a regurgitation of the textbook's and teacher's opinion which is tragic because subjects like history can be viewed through many lenses each offering different insights. In math, you are told "do this and that" without understanding the logic, and I remember one teacher getting an attitude when a student genuinely wanted to know why a certain method was being taught in a certain way (luckily that teacher is no longer there). And science is very much the same. Also, if you think you're kids are going to learn how to combat secular ideas such as evolution at this school, that is not the case. They totally misrepresent secular ideas so that when it comes time when you actually have to learn them your left scrambling for information to defend what you believe. I know several people in my class who know hold different beliefs than what was taught at the school or just out right have left the faith. Again, I think this goes back to a lack of being taught to critically think, and essentially lying (although perhaps unknowingly) about what colleges really teach.

The teachers are effective in teaching and they do care and help each student with becoming a good student. They want them to do their best in every subject. Overall I think they are effective.

While our daughter has only been in this school since third grade we have had lots of homework. Third grade was above average and fourth grade was unbelievable! I felt like I was homeschooling my daughter. We had no time for after school activities at all because of the homework and studing for exams or tests which were given daily. We all learned a lot in fourth grade. They say fifth grade is easier so we will see.

We love this school. Our daughter has gone here since third grade. She is in fifth grade now. Fourth grade was very hard but we learned a lot and got through it. My daughter loves all the staff,teachers and class mates. She doesn't want to go anywhere else. Public schools have to much drama and to be honest ,I fear for my daughter in a public school. Too many things happen. When we leave our daughter at BACS ,we don't worry about her safety at all.
She has learned so much and we know when she graduates from here she will have a great start in College and her future will be awesome.

I agree this school has helped my daughter in her Christian Faith. They have taught her so much not only from the Bible but overall being a good student in learning.

This school has been such a Godsend for my kids. I have one in elementary and one in high school. My older child transferred from public school after 9th grade. I have never seen him so happy and well-adjusted--and in record time. The coaches in particular are devoted and they really love those kids and teach them so much more than sports. Those lessons will stay with them their entire lives. It has very literally changed my older child's life. My younger child has learned to apply God's word to his own life and relationships and it is priceless. The difference in his reading and writing skills from those of his public school peers is obvious. I can't say enough good things about BACS in this review. I only wish I had started them sooner.

I was privileged enough to be able to attend Bay Area Christian for all of high school. In my own opinion I gave the school a great rating, reasons for this conclusion could go on and on forever. To start, I attended not only another private school in the Houston area, but also was in the public school system. The comparison could not be further apart. Bay Area was the best school I ever attended, from the teachers to the office staff. There was a lot of love and great Christian values established as the foundation of the school. I was able to participate in many different sports and all the coaches were such a blessing to me. The values and work ethics the coaches established in me have paid off big time in my career. Its been 7 years since I've graduated, and am still thankful everyday about how much attending this school has benefitted me in a positive way.

The high school teachers don't teach, they give assignments and homework. The answer for everything is a detention. There is no love, mercy, or talking/working it out. The teachers also play favorites here. Sad place.

I am so overly ple.ased with this school i cannot begin to brag enough. This school has the best teachers and staff. To hear my children quote God's word is the most rewarding thing i could sk for in my life. I am so happy that i was given the oppurtunity to have my children here and keep them here. If you are considering a private school in the area this is the place to take them.

Bay Area Christian has been a Godsend for my family. Our daughter has done extremely well with the smaller class sizes and accelerated curriculum. It's not one of those Christian Schools that was just duct taped together overnight, but rather it is a well-established institution that offers a warm, Christian environment for my daughter's education. I use to be a firm believer that Christian Schools were a waste of time and money because of all the kids i knew attending them and how mmuch of a blow-off they were; this school is NOT that way. My daughter has homework nearly every day and the parents are very involved with the teachers. It's a sense of family. I have not experienced anything other than greatness thus far from this school and it is well worth the money.

My son has attended since 5th grade and now in 10th. Teachers were great up till you get to highschool. My son is dyslexic so has a little harder time than most and does not make the grades that I would like. I have tried to get help from a Beta student which was referred but no one ever would get back to me or help me so we could get extra tutoring. After all as much as I pay you would think we could get help. So if your kid has a hard time in school this school is very hard but good kids and well behaved and so much better than public I have to say. Just plan on a lot of work, and your kid will be smarter than being in public school. Public school is just to many bad kids and bad influence and prepare you for trouble in future.

I have been very upset about the gossip going on in the main office. Parents and students walking by can hear the slander of students and teachers. A group of secretaries were talking about a teacher where anyone can hear. I think the leadership of the school should put an end to this. It is not appropriate around students. I was hoping that a Christian school would have a positive environment, but we have not found that to be true. The body of Christ builds, it does not tear down or throw stones.
