We moved here from out of state last year and absolutely love the community, students and staff at St Joes. We are so blessed and happy to have found a community of like-minded people that care about everyone. They emphasize morals, family, excellent education and giving kids opportunities. Your child is NOT a number and NOT lost here. Highly, highly recommend!

Our family has been incredibly blessed to have enrolled in St Joe's for the second year.
As informed and engaged parents, searching for alternative education that laser focused on academics, we were looking for the most effective learning environment for our children.
Learning is marginalized in schools where the latest fads, gimmicks, special interest influence, and digitization reign. Instead, we value a school that knows, and understands that what should be prioritized, are those methods which are proven most effective for learning.
St. Joe's values and balances effective print materials with digital tools, and prioritizes high quality content, curriculum, and rigorous direct instruction. The sports program is encouraging and inclusive to all students. The class sizes are small and managed professionally. The staff and teachers are professional and supportive to all families who are educating their youth.
Responsive parents interested in educating their children with proven high standards and expectations, will be satisfied in the St. Joe's high school experience that has consistently produced young men and women who are prepared for life, college, and career.

St. Joes has a different culture than all the schools in Ogden. They not only teach kids more than any school but they also get them in the community and teach about the importance of community. These kids work hard but they also play hard. The administration does a great job at making sure the kids have balance. They have a tough academic curriculum but they also have fun weeks where they do competitions between grades and just have down time so the kids can feel the comradery between students and teachers. They do a great job making sure no kid is left behind and they take their jobs seriously but they also know the kids individually. I highly recommend St. Joes especially if you are new to the area because they have many activities and fundraisers that get you involved as a parent and get to know other parents. We have been at st joes for 9 years!

My oldest son graduated from St. Joseph in 2017 and my youngest will be a senior next year. They both attended the elementary school as well. I absolutely love this school and the community. We are a family and we take care of each other. The teachers truly care about the success of the students and are always there to help. If parents ever need anything they are always able to email the teachers (or call them) and they are quick to respond. I highly recommend this school if you are considering a private school for your children.

Our daughter has been in the St Joe's system since the 5th grade. The school provides a rigorous education with more electives than you would expect at a school of this size. Families are encouraged to participate and the school is welcoming to students of all faiths. Staff is easy to communicate with. The small size allows for customization, which has enabled our daughter to participate in multiple sports during the same season. This wouldn't have been possible at the public school. Overall, we're very happy with our experience and the quality of education.

They have been taught by the best teachers in the state and had opportunities to get involved in various ways with the school and larger community. Love St. Joe's!

St. Joseph has been a great school for my daughter. She is a freshman and plays multiple sports. Class sizes are small, around 10 a class. The school does require parents to volunteer time. Tuition is quite a bit, at least for the area. But it is worth it.

St. Joseph’s aka Big Joes is an amazing faith based education that truly challenges each of its students to perform their best. Their elective courses have a good diversity. The teachers actually care about their students and communicate with parents if needed. Small class sizes help students get better one on one with teachers. They have all the standard extracurricular activities sports and drama and multiple clubs. The location of the school is just awe inspiring as it backs up to the beautiful mountains. The graduation rate and college acceptance rate speaks for itself. I am proud to send my children to St. Joseph’s because I know I am giving my children the best education there is to offer.

We were new to St. Joe's when our daughter started her freshman year. We knew we needed to try something different to really push her academically and we found the place. The class sizes are small, and the teachers want the kids to succeed. The structure that is created in the classes, where there are no phones allowed, pushes the students to interact with each other and the teachers. Our daughter loves it here.

It’s a good school but there are not enough opportunities for dual enrollment courses. Also, there are not as many options for classes that I am interested in. Since so many kids do sports there are not many people participating in clubs, as well as the music department. However, teachers are great and most of the students are alright. School is not ADA compliant in any way, and no special education is offered. Probably not worth the tuition.

There is an in-group and an out-group here - and boy-oh-boy is it hard to fit in. Toxic community centered around wealth and conformity (definitely not faith...). Excluding & bullying outsiders is widespread and normalized. A depressing aura every day just waking in the building if you don't fit in.

Please let your student think long and hard before they decide to come here. Most students will not belong.

All the thousands we give them was absolutely worthless. And our daughter was on top of grades when she going to public schools. They don’t care!

I have been a resident of Ogden UT for 17 years. My son attended public elementary school in the local area through the 8th grade. As I examined the local high-school options, it became clear that St Joseph was the best choice for college preparation. I compared where former students attended college from St Joseph and other local public and charter schools. Many St Joseph graduates attend prestigious universities (the attendance is relatively small, so this is a high percentage.) St Joseph provided a superior combination of academics, sports and extracurricular activities. My son found his four years at St Joseph very challenging and ultimately rewarding. He was accepted to several top private universities, and he is currently a freshman at the United States Coast Guard Academy. My son owes the majority of his acceptance and preparation to his four-year St Joseph experience. I highly recommend St Joseph High School.

My son attended the school and I can say without reservation that I'm always impressed with our teachers, how much they care for our students and their colleagues. This is a true community. Our teachers are highly prepared in their fields and others as well. About me, aside from teaching, I am composing symphonies, choral and chamber works to be performed by local and out of state orchestras.

St. Joseph Catholic High School is an excellent institution with a long history of exemplary academics and extra curricular programs. I am a teacher and a former student. I also send my two children to the elementary and middle schools and am very much looking forward to having them attend the high school when they are old enough.

Each member of the faculty, staff, and administration is deeply committed to providing a quality education with individual attention given to every one of our students. We work diligently at our subjects to create a rigorous and supportive learning environment that meets the needs of students and their families. We also really enjoy what we do, which makes the work easier and the learning process more effective. I really can't imagine myself teaching anywhere else. It's a wonderful place.

St. Joseph Catholic High School is an excellent environment for young people to learn.

We are committed to bringing new and effective teaching strategies. Our students experience academic and social opportunities
that emphasize the importance of Catholic values, which our society is so in need of nowadays. Besides that, we work with a lower student to teacher ratio, which allows more attention, engagement, and better opportunities to teach and learn.

My family and I have been a part of the Saint Joseph Catholic Community for about 10 years now. The school community is like no other. The support from the Administration, teachers, families, and student body is amazing. There is always someone there to lend a helping hand or to give a suggestion for how to make something easier, more understandable, or more accessible.
The high school team has worked so diligently to keep everyone safe during this time of Covid. The teachers effectively learned, promoted, and executed the use of online teaching/learning to best support their students. The Administration worked diligently to make sure they did all they could to keep the classrooms, teachers, students, and school as clean and safe as possible. They opened their doors in August and have safely kept them open since...WAY TO GO, JAYHAWKS!
Saint Joe's offers a solid and well-rounded education that prepares its students for college, employment, and life. Students are encouraged to take courses that challenge them intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. SJCHS does a wonderful job educating the WHOLE STUDENT: Mind, body, and spirit.
We are so proud to call ourselves JAYHAWKS!

My name is Alicia Behnken. I have been teaching at St. Joseph Catholic HS for 17 years. I teach Spanish. I had the opportunity to have my 3 kids attend St. Joseph. All graduated and I can't say enough about the great preparation that they received here at St. Joseph. All of them recognized that a rigorous curriculum is the best way to prepare them for the rigor of College. Each of them was well prepared, they learned various skills in the classroom that helped them navigate college life. They enjoyed the one-to-one time that they had from their teachers, they appreciated the care that they received and the compassion that teachers showed for them. As a teacher, I enjoyed taking time from my class to have discussions about life and to hopefully inspire each student to be a better person. If you are looking for a school that will not only prepare your student for college but also a place of nurturing the whole being, ST JOSEPH IS YOUR CHOICE. I love the diversity of my classes and I love having the opportunity to work with each when they are struggling. We make time for each of them and we know each of our students by their name. In my class, it is not a one strategy fits all but instead, we make modifications for each child and their learning experience. We want each student to not just understand concepts but to experience enduring understanding with all that they learn in the classroom.

Our family loves the comradely within the school not only with the parents and students but with all the teachers and staff. With this las year and COVID our school has stayed open with no shutdowns. St. Joseph worked diligently over the summer to put together programs to keep our kids safe and healthy and be able to remote learn with ease. My daughter has been remote all year and takes 3 AP classes on top of all her other work load and has been able to maintain her GPA. Then you have the amazing opportunities for scholarships! The counselors at the school work side by side with us to help our kids move on to their next step with ease. I honestly can not say enough about how great they are and the quality of curriculum they offer.

At this school students are encouraged to participate fully in the high school experience. All of the sports, theater and programs are no cut. Every student gets a chance to be on the team. For a small school they have amazing participation with the students. My son graduated in 2019 and my daughter is in the class of 2024. The course work is vigorous and it is amazing what they learn. They are encouraged to volunteer and be a part of the community. There are thousands of ways to achieve at SJCHS. The small class sizes mean each students needs are met and cared about. The students leave the school ready to succeed in life, prepared for college and thoughtful young adults. I am proud to know a few graduates now and I am always impressed by their ability to communicate and their hard work.

We are very happy with the small class sizes and the level of individual attention. The teachers really take the time to get to know students and present the curriculum in a way that will get them excited about the topic. In addition to strong academics, the school promotes a culture that is positive and kind.

They have a no cut policy for their athletic and arts programs which allows any student to participate. There is a high level of student and parental involvement which translates into a very connected school community.

Last year’s graduates were awarded more than $19 million in scholarships, which averages to $206,000 per student. St. Joseph’s students graduate well prepared for college and life.

Our children are back at St. Joe's after a few years in the public school system. What a difference! My kids are much further along than their friends that attend the public schools.

Having children in both the Elementary and the HS for 10 years now I've seen a lot. I used to love the school (the elementary school). But sadly I can no longer say that. I don't think the school has changed, I think I outgrew it in faith. If parents are looking for the absolute best in academics (math, language arts, science) I truly don't think you can find anything even close to what St. Joseph has to offer. However for parents who are strong in the Catholic faith and expect it to be THE priority at the school, you will be grossly disappointed. It is a priority but not the top priority. In fact we have Theology teachers who don't know their faith and teaching error. That is not important to many, dare I say, most parents, but it is the top priority to me. And those few of us who care more about faith than academics are largely ignored. So, if you want simply the best secular education possible in this area, it will make you very happy. If you are faithful Catholic who expects faith first, you will have to let some go. Not your faith, but your expectations. I'd still suggest the school and do, but I do warn those who put God first will be disappointed, often.

The teaching staff is stronger than it has ever been, and is great at exciting the students as well as teaching effectively. Though the number of administrators is excessive for such a small student body and shows poor performance as such, the president of the school on the other hand is an extremely efficient leader, and counteracts the rest of the administration.
