My children thrived at this school. Teachers were knowledgeable and offered various opportunities for my kids to receive support when needed. The communication between some teachers was lacking, however, the school wide newsletters were informative and provided information regarding school events. I would 100% recommend this school to others!

I spent all three years and dreaded every single day. From being bullied in 6th grade in front of substitute teachers and because i dressed differently ( my dad was strict i could only wear leggings and a shirt that covered my butt or jeans and a hoodie that covered my butt ). I was bullied relentlessly. In 7th grade I attempted to commit because of how bad the bullying was. Returned and nothing changed. In 8th grade i had groups of girls bullying me and laughing at me for how i smell after being outside in pe. Some of the teachers were nice shoutout to Mr. Hundley and Ms. Casiano. The only two good staff. Ms young was sweet also and Ms. miller was helpful. But a few good staff does not support that school at all. Do not recommend horrible school

Parkside Middle School offers a very good education and many wonderful extracurricular activities. Parkside Middle offers the Cambridge International School and World Language Specialty Program which is an outstanding program that is recognized worldwide.

I am starting to believe that this school will soon lose control. I have the basis to consider that this school isn't a school to be associated with for they lack many of the responsibilities and strengths that a public school thrives in. It is a suspicious issue why this school is still called one for all they do is teach weak information at high standards. Talking about staff and teachers; First, there is no standard priority for preparing for the days and weeks that teachers themselves must spend. An example that can easily be described here is how a large number of educators working in that institution ignore the fact that they are teachers and only a few of them play their part accordingly and cooperatively. To summarize my experience, this school is a dangerous and unhealthy environment for everyone.

Parkside is very very unsafe, from dangerous students, to construction going in when students and staff are in the building. Most classes are in trailers. School uses an unfair point reward system. Hallways are over pack and tend to have fights going on in them. The bath rooms of extremely vandalized, dirty, and never have Tp or soap. Parkside also does not give mony to clubs other than foot ball, soccer, basball, softball, panther partners, and robotics ( they spend so much mony on them). They relly dont spend any money on theater.Instead they spend the mony on treating staff with hight end fast food. The school does not teach studens any maners. 75% of teachers do not care about there job only 20% are wet noodles and only 5% are good teachers. Allmost all none teacher staff are rude, pribliged, pushy, and bratty. You have to fill out a online pass that verver works to use the rest room or even just to go to an other room. They also closed off some of the resst rooms.Many Cort yards and other tool are unvable to students. There are many other mesed up things if I wright them all down by the time you could would = to waching all the lord of the rings movie 2 times so I will save you from that. This school rely does suck in general, feels like a prison, is unfair, dirty, and messes with my metal health alot.

School arbitrarily reduces services for students with learning disabilities. My child is now failing for the first time in their life.
Teachers fail to control unruly children even when clearly witnessing their wrongdoing, including bullying.
Faculty within the PWCS District (2 nurses, a secretary, and 2 substitute teachers) have refused to take assignments at this school due to lack of protection and backup from leadership.
School officials are clearly worried that holding students accountable will bring in district leadership. Weird how some of these issues got worse after a new superintendent was hired.

Parkside is trash. The teachers don't care if someone is being bullied. I brought a pride flag to school because it was pride month and I was chased around the hallways and ended the day with small holes in the center of the flag and bruises all over my body. Teachers don't care about bullying until someone is standing up for themself. The education is terrible. When I asked my teachers for an explanation on how to do an equation they just told me to figure it out. I only figured it out when my parents helped me. Teachers always say "If you're good in class and follow the rules, you'll love Parkside!" My teachers actually like me. I follow the rules and have not skipped a single class in my life. Yet here I am. writing this review. Also, there is trash everywhere and I've seen used condoms and tampons in the toilets. And the food is hardly edible. The teachers are all horrible except for about three. A lot of them have said slurs and encouraged bullying. Get your stuff together Parkside.

My kids have attended several schools and I have learned that the two biggest factors for a positive experience have been the relationships between the teachers and the administration and the two-way communication between the parents and the teachers/administration. Dr. Boynton maintains an amazingly positive and supportive environment for the teachers, students and parents. As a parent, I always feel I am kept "in the loop", especially during this crazy pandemic with virtual learning. Of course, as always, some teachers are "better" than others, but generally, that is a matter of opinion and my moody tweens' attitudes. All of the teachers we have had seem perfectly competent and the vast majority of them seem to go above and beyond to engage the students.

My experience has been outstanding with this school it is very clear to see how well the school leadership is respected by the staff, the students and the parents and is a night and day difference and experience from the school leadership at that we had at (SHES). The Principal at this school is truly dedicated to making this the best educational experience possible for all students.

My son attended Parkside and we were extremely disappointed with the instruction he received. Most teachers were not attentive when he had asked for additional help with assignments or studying for the SOLs. The worst "teacher" was the orchestra teacher. She, as with most of the teachers, taught to the "lowest hanging fruit" and provided additional help to only hand picked students. Does NOT prepare the student for future success.

My daughter is smart and shy. Knowing that MS is tough I was not sure how she would do here. She is currently taking advanced courses and has joined multiple clubs. And, most importantly, is content and enjoys going to school. Her teachers are responsive when we email them for status checks and are very encouraging.

My son attended Parkside and we were very pleased. His teachers were outstanding. I have to applaud the drama club. My son was shy & introverted and the drama club allowed him to meet great friends and find a talent he didn't know existed. His education at Parkside including the foreign language emphasis helped him become a straigh A student.

If you're striving for mediocrity, this is the school for you. I wanted to get behind this school, I wanted to believe it was headed in the right direction, but our time there was a chronic disappointment. The best word to describe this school is sloppy. From the back to school lack of organization, to classroom management, and everything in between, extreme sloppiness is everywhere. A couple of really good teachers and one or two good administrators do not make for a great school. They like to tout that they're an International Cambridge School, but here it translates into workers swearing in front of the kids in different languages, one of many examples of low standards. If you want answers/clarification/anything accomplished, good luck getting that done with just a phone call. I don't have enough room here to list the numerous examples of our disappointing interactions with this school. As both a military parent and a prior teacher (elsewhere), here is my advice, if you are considering this school: Run. There are numerous other schools to choose from in PWC, and this one will only provide your child with a cautionary tale of how a school should *not* be run.

This school doesn't have what it takes to be listed as a school. Nor should it be allowed to operate with the staff it has running it. The school registrar should be replaced along with the principle and the school board for allowing a school to operate the way it does.

As a seasoned teacher that has transferred into Parkside, I can only say how impressed I am with the administration and staff from the custodian right through to the principal. Starting at the top with the principal she is a straightforward woman. You know what she expects, there are no secrets. She is firm but fair; exactly what you want in a boss. Fellow teachers have been very welcoming and helping in every way imaginable right down to the custodians who helped any way they could with a smile on their face. There is a high standard for ALL students, as Parkside has become a Cambridge International School. Students are expected to always be respectful, prepared, and do their best. Why would anyone complain about a principal and staff that expect every child to be successful? I am exceptionally happy I became a member of the Parkside Middle School staff. They are a world class group of educators, just as Prince William County States about their schools, a World Class Education.

Do not work here. A lazy and unprofessional principal who likes to be bossy being surrounded by a group of assistants and some teachers from the staff. They are a bunch of spiteful, malevolent, stab-in-the-back people who will do anything so as to be "promoted' and belong to that "selected' group of cronies. They won't let anyone in unless you adhere to their social standards. Horrible place to work at.

This school does not provide a quality education. The schedule is so convoluted....it's amazing that anyone could follow it. The leadership at the school is lacking and not looking out for the students. They are only concerned with making a name for themselves. The foreign language program (of which they are supposed to be a specialty school) is not supported at all. Some of the teachers are good, but you have to look for them.

This school is less then mediocre. My child was not prepared for high school upon completion of eighth grade. The homework (whenever there was some) were handprinted. I can only recall a handful of times when text books were used.

Parkside Middle School is a school the community can be proud of. I think it is starting to get overcrowded and has a size and staff issue, in terms of adjusting to all this. With just two music teachers they have won numerous awards and competitions and this is with classes of 40 or more kids. One art teacher who coaches football, and another who gives her time freely and with great care and compassion for children. A science teacher who stays after school and sponsors Science/eco club and always handles large classes, or 8th grade LA teacher who constantly produces classes of impressive writing SOL scores by basing curriculum on engaging topics. Four Physical Education teachers who probably put together a class that is always the highlight of the day for each student. Counselors who create and maintain communication with their students, and countless other teachers who coach and secretaries who also sponsor or coach. We have one substitute with a degree in anthropology from Davidson (wrestling coach at one time), and another with a degree in political science from Virginia Tech (multi sport coach), another from Pittsburgh (coaches crew outside County). World Class...

Terrible school. Staff is unorganized and hates their jobs. School is generic and unconcerned for students. Bus schedules are always changing and you never know if your on the right bus. It took two weeks to register for the school thanks to very rude, unprofessional employees. I have been hung up on by the staff and the school seems very unwelcoming in general. To summarize, this school has no idea what they are doing, is poorly attempting to run on a low budget, and is unwelcoming. The teachers themselves seem good and are somewhat helpful and the curriculum is average.

Dissapointing. My US Constitutional rights have been violated so many times that it hurt me right in the patriotism. It's so poorly organized that alll the rules contradict each other and nobody has a clue what their doing. The staff is mean, I've been told "Get out my face" several times they arent helpful. The teachers are OK some are pretty bad but mostly good. Everybody hates their government jobs it not a happy place. Not very welcoming. You cant leave class, to use the bathroom, or they stop you.just to see the counselor you need to get a hall pas to get a counseling pass to get a digital hall pass back to class.
