Our experience at Elkton middle school has been nothing but a nightmare. The bullying is out of control and the principles and the school officials do nothing about it. A matter of fact, they lied to your face and tell you that they’re gonna do something but they don’t. they punished their students for missing time because of bullying and make it sound like the victim is the problem. The teachers have given up. They do not give homework. They do not bring books home. They do not bring a Chromebook comb they do not bring review she home too study for anything. It is a compete joke. They destroyed my child for school. She loved going to school. She was a straight a student. Now she’s a CD student and nobody cares. This school needs to be shut down because it is a disgrace and a waste of taxpayer money

It absolutely sucks, this is why I want to protest the school. If I could I wouldn't give any stars.

Elkton Middle School is horrible. And, when I say that, I'm certainly not over exaggerating, I really mean it. When I first came to Elkton Middle, I was already met with bullies, and nobody cared. When teachers saw, they said nothing, only when it got so bad there was an entire thing where the kids in classrooms were taught about how bad racist jokes are. But, they never addressed anything else, never about how LBGT+ people get bullied, or how kids with disabilities were bullied, or how it anyone can be bullied. Just a small "don't be racist" talk, and then never again. Me personally, Elkton Middle has to be one of the most bully-prone schools ever. So much so that, as I move from 7th to 8th grade, I'm converting to online school. It was horrible, physically and mentally. I had multiple encounters of telling my teachers or counselors about being bullied or even WORSE (it's pretty clear later on) and they simply go "I'm so sorry". No action taken, no parents called, no actual comfort, nothing. Everything is just so mentally draining, and when I was in 6th grade I was sexually assaulted by a girl in the same grade. I went home, told my mom, and we set up a meeting with the counselors and principal. But, what happened after that? I got a no contact slip. That's it, I did all of that, and I got a no contact slip. Many times have I had nightmares, thoughts, or even panic attacks about what she did to me, but the school did not care at all. Which worsens my situation, and I'm scared to speak up about things In fear of being shut down BECAUSE of what Elkton Middle did to me. When I reported girls that were throwing food at me during lunch, the counselor told me that "if it happens again, tell me.". I never even finished my sentence, and these girls had bullied me about 3 different times before being extreme about it. I used to date a girl at Elkton Middle, and I'm AFAB, yet everyone basically already knew I was "lesbian". (I'm trans and omniromantic now, so some things have changed.) When I was dating her, these girls would come up to me and her and just snicker and ask us questions like we were zoo animals. Honestly, I pretended to be all funny about it, but it was really hurtful. They told us bad things, like "you're going to hell for being gay!!" etc.. I never let those comments actually get to me, and I'm loud and proud about being gay, but you can imagine how it felt anyways. Overall, a big nope with bullying. Thanks for reading this far, I guess.

This school is terrible for many reasons. It does absolutely nothing to stop bullying and harassment. Teachers witness bullying and often remain silent; they don't take effective action to address it and usually handle it in the worst possible ways. I was a student at this school and my experiences are awful. My mother tried to speak with one of my bullies' parents, and they declined to speak with her back. If you're being bullied or if someone antagonizes you first and you simply say something back and push back on them, you'll get in trouble as well because "You should've told a teacher." I was given ISS (In-school suspension) for the entire day for this exact reason. I showed many signs that I was going through depression and I even admitted to wanting to harm myself before, and still, this school does nothing.

If you care about the well-being of your child, don't send them to this school because if they're being bullied or going through mental problems, this school wouldn't do much to help them out. I requested to have a therapist at this school and I wasn't given.

Kids do whatever they want and racism, homophobia, and sexism runs freely. Principal has an interesting friendship with the basketball coach.

I am a 8th grader at Elkton Middle School and in my 2 years here I've had an overall good experience. The teacher are great and really do help you learn.I am a straight A student and they do reward you for what you accomplish. The only thing I don't like is the school structure itself. It's an older school and the 8th grade hall lockers are disgusting looking.Other than those things the school is great!

I like this school, but they could do better. I am going into seventh grade. The teachers, however are boring (especially one certain teacher, but she will remain anonymous). The school is kind of old, and the lockers are always sticky. There's not a lot of drama, as far as I know, but this is coming from some random ginger-haired girl who sits alone at lunch and has no friends (A.K.A.: Me).

My youngest child will be coming to Elkton Middle this year and even though she may be nervous, I am not, this is a wonderful school and excellant staff. I have already had one child go through this school with no problems what so ever.

I think Ekton is a great school to go to. I am a 7th grader, a straight A student and I think the teachers at Elkton are great. Everyone is friendly and the I think the teachers really strive to get the most out of each and every student. We have goals every nine weeks and if we reach them, we get to go and do something out of school. The district is very good, and we have excellent sports and clubs. They also do keep up to date with technology and are now working to get SMART boards and/or iPads to most every class.
