My children have attended Woodstock since my eldest was in 1st grade, four years ago. We were so pleased our first year as our experience matched the school's reputation. But over the last three years myself and other parents have seen a discouraging shift. The quality of education has slipped. Some of the best teachers have left the school. The teachers that have replaced the former teachers communicate less, are less patient, and the curriculum is sub par. The leadership at the school is untrustworthy and is partially the reason why many of the veteran teachers have left. These are not simply my experience, but the experience of at least two dozen parents that I've spoken with over the last three years. We were hopeful that once things stabilized post covid that the education would return to a better standard. It has not. If I could I would home school or send my children to private school, not Woodstock. Not with the current leadership there. My wife and I, like other parents, are very concerned about what middle school has to offer. We've heard too many unfortunate stories about that experience.

Both of my children and nieces go to Woodstock and I couldn’t be happier. Excellent staff and Teachers

We have had children in Woodstock for 7 and our experience has been exceptional. The principal (Ms. Hedrick) is phenomenal, the teachers and staff are wonderful & really make it a point to make your child feel loved and help them thrive. I couldn’t imagine my kids going to any other elementary school.

My kids have been at this schools for 4 years and it has been a very positive experience. The administration is dedicated to the students and staff and the teachers are committed to providing a top quality education to the students in their class.

P and AP are not capable of effectively handling SPED issues. Repeated documentation of P and AP ignoring parents requests. P and AP do not appear to have any SPED experience.

Posted: May 30, 2019

Anti Bullying is devoted to a week during the school year. Staff yells at and bullies both Neurotypical and non Neurotypical students. Repeated parent requests to move teachers are ignored and denied.

Posted: May 30, 2019

Posted: May 30, 2019

Between ineffective SPED and admin, most teachers are doing their best. Lots of minor behavior issues are expected but an increase in violent students in the building has heightened teachers and parents concerns.

Posted: May 30, 2019

Violence and bullying occur in the building regularly. Staff has been documented bullying SPED students. Staff can be heard yelling at students almost daily in the halls and common areas. Staff bullying SPED students, with parent witnesses, is ALWAYS poorly handled by the AP.

Posted: May 30, 2019

2019 Principal and AP are ineffective at best. AP handles most SPED concerns and is not the right person for the position. P and AP lack the authority to remove violent student from the building. Superintendent's last letter to the staff was lack luster and left a lot of staff stunned.

Posted: May 30, 2019

Below average at best. If your child requires SPED services, has medical devices, or if you require input in your child's placement and regular ED/SPED needs, this school is not the place for your child.

Our Students always Show THE WOODSTOCK WAY! Earning Chuck Bucks

Posted: February 4, 2017

Teachers at Woodstock go beyond to make sure students stay on task even if they have to stay after school for a few hours to show you a hard Math problem.

Posted: February 4, 2017

Every Teacher every year has a different system but using email ,apps, texts , planners HW folders to communicate with Parents helps us

We love Woodstock! When visiting WES you never know what you might see students working on throught out the building. I have seen student build a Robot that can dance ,filming a video for a book review or hanging out in MakerSpace building with knexts, coding on the computer just to name a few things offer at MakerSpace. Glad to see more technology in our schools. Our family loves all the after school events we have so much fun. Teachers and PTA is very friendly and helpful I Feel welcome at Woodstock. The only thing I would change more after school activities and listen to the children voice on school concerns more let's all work as a team.

The Staff, including the Principle, are great. This is the second year they have allowed us to out-of-zone to their school. My son comes home daily excited to tell me exactly what he did or learned that day. They have many fun school functions we frequently attend. I will always recommenced this school!

School itself has great communication. Cant say the same for my childs teachers. He is in kindergarten... I think I should be on there payroll because Im the one teaching my child how to read, not the teachers. I understand that he is to practice at home but I didn't get the degree to teach him myself . Im just extremely disappointed in this school. Classes are over populated and at least in my case (cant judge other teachers) my childs kindergarten teacher is an overpaid babysitter who sends her job home to the parents to do. Also this school/teacher allow bullying to happen and that's unacceptable. Looking to move to a better school zone like hickory or great bridge areas. Shame on this school. I feel bad labeling this school horrible because of two teachers but its kindergarten and thats where academic foundation is formed.
