did almost nothing about me being bullied. I am bullied in school, outside of school and online by a multiple people and they haven't been punished once. Not to mention the fact that the group of kids blackmailed me and tried to leak my number. Most of the teachers are alright though.

My kid attended many schools before KCMS, and she really thrived in this school. Nearly straight A's for the last two academic years. Yes, the school itself isn't the most up-to-date and could use some funding to upgrade structural aspects.
However, there has never been a more involved special education program, and the nurses, admin team and teachers care a great deal about their students well being. Due to receiving the individual education program my student needed, they finally began to succeed and even excel in academic development for the first time when attending KCMS.
Many possibilities for students and families to get involved with On-the-Road afterschool career enrichment. Anytime my child was stressed or sick, she was well taken care of. Also, the music and drama department really let's their kids shine. KCMS gets a lot of flack, but in comparison, it has done wonders for my student.

According to my calculations this curriculum is not very comprehensible and the teachers can be often not cooperative and responsible the students are often distracting and often rude over students if you wanna go to this school just be prepared for bullying,mean kids,distracting classes and more

Kate Collins Middle School in of itself as of 9/24/24, is an extremely violent school. As a student, death threats from other students are as usual as raindrops falling on a spring day. Not to mention the constant fighting, arguing, bullying, and the lack of genuine good teachers. 1/10 would NOT recommend.

Zero communication. Front desk women, assuming its just the one, is awful. School runs of out lunch frequently. There is no type of newsletter here. Follow their Facebook page and you might have a slight idea of whats going on. Office staff could care less. Avoid moving into this district.

The administration is very reactive and appears to have little control of the staff or the instructors. The teachers have a wide range, but seem to be able to pick and choose what they focus on in terms of discipline. As a result the classrooms seem to be out of control much of the time. Curriculum is poorly organized and implemented at the whim of the individual teacher. If the student is fortunate enough to be in alias with an effective teacher they may have a positive experience in that class, but that is not the common experience.

Kate Collins is an absolute gem of a school. Committed, competent and caring staff make our daughter's time here very rewarding. The fear of transitioning to Middle School (really any middle school), I think, distorts the initial impression of the school on the part of many parents. We are thrilled with the quality of the school, inside and out.

We have found KCMS to be a beautiful facility with highly qualified teachers and staff that educate the students with a well-balanced curriculum that advocates student growth at all levels of diversity and skill sets. The honors classes are instructed with above level content, yet structured to still meet the necessary requirements for the grade levels. My current eighth grader will enter into high school with five high school credit classes under his belt and multiple perfect SOL scores. KCMS has significantly helped to set his course for success as he enters high school by building upon his strengths and providing him the knowledge he will need to be successful at the next level of education and beyond. Power School is an awesome online tool used to access your child's daily activities, assignments and grades. This tool is extremely helpful for middle schoolers to track their progress as well as for parents, where in those middle school years we parents sometimes feel out of the loop. We're certain that our son has capitalized on opportunities & courses that have not been available to students in neighboring communities. Thank you KCMS.

This school deserves NO stars. This is by far the worst school I have ever encountered. I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING good to say about Kate Collins or the two female administrators who run it. Sadly, this is the only middle school in Waynesboro, so school options are minimal- if you have the means to home school your children they will be much better off. Communication between administration and parents is lacking and I question whether the education of the children is top priority here. Honestly, I think there should be cameras in every room of this building so that parents could monitor what is happening through out the day with their children. Perhaps then some things would change for the better...

Just as there isn't any perfect child - parent - hospital, etc. - there is any perfect middle school. However, KCMS ranks right at the top. They offer many opportunities for children with higher level math courses, middle school athletics, different clubs (Jr. Beta, FCCLA, Robotics...), dances, after school tutoring, summer school, high school credit classes, band, chorus, diversity, a great PTO and much more. KCMS has a supportive network of parents, teachers, custodians, cafeteria workers, secretaries, guidance counselors, SROs, sped dept, & administrators! They do whatever is humanly possible to make sure that they are working together to do whatever is best for kids and the future of Waynesboro.
