I definitely advocate for the "whole child" approach that allows spiritual formation as well as academic. A strong academic program that incorporates individual learning styles and needs vs. a cookie cutter approach to everyone. Teachers are outstanding, the Dominican Sisters are wonderful! Parish next door allows kids to attend weekly mass and have even greater sense of community. Athletic program is good and loads of extras including children can start beginner band in 4th grade. Military friendly and centrally located to multiple military bases in Peninsula/Hampton Roads area.

  • Recommendations: *Hampton Roads Academy (Newport News/Private/Non-faith based) *Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg/Private/Catholic-Sisters of Mercy) *Yorktown Magnate School (Public/Neighborhood-based)

  • What did you dislike? It is a bit of a drive for us as we live in Yorktown, but the bus does come to our area and we use it on a regular basis. The bus drivers are very nice.
