This school is a perfect example of a terrible school. It is unsafe, the teachers are horrible, they do not care about their students' education, and the students are mean. And don't even come here if you have a disabled kid because they are terrible to them, do not care about them, and treat them absolutely horribly. So if you don't want a terrible school, do not come to this school.

This school is a joke! You have several students walking around with ankle monitors. That makes your student feel really safe to be a new student in the school. There is a bald headed rude, aggressive, man at the front that gives the students and parents attitude. I witnessed it with other students while i enrolling my child and anytime i came in the school, my child was given attitude and he gave me attitude. He shouldn't be there at the front office as a representative of the school. The front staff are act like country hicks who have no idea what is going on. They are extremely slow and don't really show any caring about their jobs nor the students. Maybe if this school cared more about the students and less about the ongoing of their personal lives things would be better!

The bus drivers couldn't care less about the students. Pulling off with out the students actually being able to have a seat while sitting still. No let's go ahead and pull off while the students are still walking down the isle of the bus. That seems completely and utterly "safe". Yes that is exactly what i want to see every morning while my kid goes to high school!! This county's public schools are really is so great!! I am so glad it was such a short stay in these public schools and we are leaving! I can only imagine how much more disregard they can possibly try to get away with when it comes to students. I'd advise moving somewhere else. Your kid won't get much from Caroline county!!

If your child has any learning disabilities that requires support of a 504 or IEP, they will not generally get the support they need. When providing federally mandated accommodations and services the school puts their interests above even the child. If something that will benefit the child if it costs too much or inconveniences them in any way, they will not provide it.
They gaslight parents so much and ultimately try to break the parents down so much into submission.
Complain all you want to the highest level. They protect each other!

Students with disabilities, especially physical disabilities, are not taken into factor when events planned. Unfortunately, it is up to the parent and student to advocate for themselves on a consistent basis. Often, staff sees that child being bullied and does not assist. The child often gives up on trying to be an active part of school activities as it becomes mentally frustrating

If your child has any special accommodations or disabilities, the school is not very accommodating. The elevator is broken half the time, no permanent solution has been put in place. If there is a pep rally or any gathering for all the students they have the option of opting out of the event, or attend with basically minimal accommodations which leads to the student being singled out and teased. We have a few good staff that work with the child but they cannot be there 24/7 they do have other responsibilities

This school is good in my honest opinion. The staff here is respectful and helpful. If you need help, they will try to help you. The school is really clean and there is one to no trash on the floor. As for safety, I feel safer here than I did at the middle school. The only thing I think they could work on is let the student's families have more engagement in the child's education.

From my own experience this school is the worst place you can send your child. The inside of the school is a complete wreck there are trash cans to hold the water from the leaking ceilings and wet floor signs in the middle of the hallways. Half the ceiling panels are missing and the ones that are left have holes in them. The bathrooms are not sanitary. The toilet are not clean and there is often poop in the corners of the bathrooms. Staff is the worst, students fight practically everyday and nothing is ever done about it. The students are very cruel and bullying is a major problem. I had problems with bullying many times in just one year and administration never did anything about it. I was pushed against the locker and knocked to the ground, I have also been harassed other students on a day to day basis, and I was made fun of by the teacher in front of the class, because I didn't answer a question correctly. Also, the teachers are unwilling to help the students or don't know how to, all they do is read from a power point which makes the lesson boring and doesn't keep the students attention. The lunch is on the same level as jail food, I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. I would never recommend anyone go to Caroline High.

Tenth grader here, The school building is practically falling apart as stated in the previous review. We have a lot of issues with mold, sewage bursts, electricity switching on and off. Not to mention the fact that the school's thermometer is always off. Some rooms are hot while others are cold. It is a very difficult environment to work within. Lunch period is short. We have three lunch periods of twenty five minutes. Some students have just gotten their food when the bell has rung. There is literally no freedom given within the school and no actual responsibility put upon the students. We are treated as children. No cell phone use is strictly enforced, and often makes us wonder what the point of being a high schooler is if they can't even give us the power to make good and bad decisions. Just until last year we had limited hall passes, four per class for each nine weeks. I remember spending class periods feeling like I was going to die. It was ridiculous. Currently we have no real school nurse, the school is falling apart, the money in the county is not being used towards the education, the sports teams are terrible, and only a few teachers make it worth while. Would not suggest.

Caroline high school is currently a health hazard, at least in my opinion. The sewage pipes burst leaking into the hall ways. There is mold noticeable on the air vents. One of the teachers is allergic to said mole and had to go into surgery in order to feel well again. There are times when the power goes out in the middle of the school day. It normally takes 5 to 10 minutes for it to come back up.The school currently does not have a nurse. There are some students who seem to be prone to fainting and seizures so having a nurse seems to be an important thing. One time while leaving school there was a plank with a nail facing upwards in the middle of the hallway. If someone was not looking at the ground they could of stepped on it and injured their self.I noticed another review complained about the teachers. There is only a few teachers that treat the students like "delinquents", and honestly I do not blame them. The students body have no respect for others. One student cut a math teachers blouse and she didn't even notice. The food quality has improved over the years. The current principal, Jeff wick, is trying his best to improve the school. He got a grant for some reconstruction.

I'd like to try to stand up for Caroline a bit by saying that this high school really isn't that bad. The building itself is old, and I personally wish that they would build a new school for that reason. I graduated from this school myself. I had great friends there. I was involved in band, soccer and volleyball. I had the GPA to go to a great college. If the school has a bad rep, it should be noted that Caroline County is poorer than most places in Virginia and thus does not generate the revenue that surrounding areas do. They lack the funding that some others school systems have, and that is the cause of a lot of their problems. Yes, some of the kids are bad, and there is, unfortunately, a demographic to be blamed for that. The teachers try their best, and I can remember some very good Science and English teachers who were among the greatest instructors I've ever had.

This school is terrible.Everything looks dirty. The worst parts of the building are its bathrooms, which are out of soap or toilet paper half the time and are extremely small. When it comes to the cafeteria, expect a wide array of "food" that closely resembles a medieval gruel and tastes even worse.Students here can barely keep up with the already bare minimum educational standards and most teachers don't know how to or don't care enough to actually help. The student body is way too large for the school and walking through the hallways is near impossible. The students themselves can be extremely rowdy and fights often occur.Instead of improving the conditions of the school the school board only makes meaningless rules and blows much needed money on unnecessary things.Sports teams do terribly in competition and winning anything is a rare occurrence. We're currently switching principals and are planning on hiring an older man who was a principal in the past, only to quit to write a book on how terrible the school system was.I wish I were kidding. But don't worry. We're getting a brand new school!Look for it in about ten years.

I recently graduated from Caroline High School. This is a great school system. Majority of the teachers are awesome and great to work with. This school is what you make of it. I currently attend one of the top schools in the country and Caroline prepared me well for it. I know tons of other students at top schools in the country that would agree with me.
