Please do better with the bullying! My kid is crying almost daily because of being made fun of and people spreading horrible rumors. She has even made us have to get therapy because she is afraid to talk to adults at school because “it will make it worse and bullied more for snitching.” Can you make some sort of online report for students to complete to get help? I fear for my child and considering pulling her put of LCPS.

It's incredibly frustrating to see a well-funded school completely drop the ball when it comes to caring for its students, with the counselors being a major letdown. Instead of providing genuine guidance and support, they seem to be there solely to collect a paycheck and call it a day. They lack any genuine care for the students they are responsible for. Growing up and attending school here, my counselor was the person I turned to the most and looked forward to conversing with. Sadly, my daughter( her counsler jaun barrios) doesn't feel that way at all.

Counselors are supposed to be the go-to people for students who need advice or help, but it's as if they're robots programmed to give canned responses. Not only do they fall short in helping students, but they are even worse when it comes to being resourceful or helpful for parents. It almost seems impossible to have a real heart-to-heart conversation with any of them. It's great that they answer our questions as they're paid to do, but please, at least pretend like you care about the students you are providing help for. They clearly don't care about the kids they're supposed to be guiding. It's really sad to see. If you're that miserable, why be a counselor at all? Don't ruin a student's educational path because you hate your job.

It's such a waste of resources and potential. Education should be about more than just fancy facilities and a big budget. It's about helping students grow, and this school is failing miserably at that

Dr Fulton has done an exceptional job turning this school around. His high expectations for staff and students has paid off. He has created an inclusive environment. Students feel welcome and heard. You will see him at every sporting and activity event showing his support to the student body. He sets an example for everyone to follow. He also changed the outside of the school with endless hours. When you drive up to the school it is warm and inviting. Kids feel safe and are able to challenge themselves. He will be missed!

Best public high school in all of Northern Virginia if you’re looking for a flat out good academic program with decent sports. It’s safe and the median students are high achievers. They will get a chance to go to good colleges.

If you are a parent looking to have your high achieving child to continue his/her momentum, this is the school for them.

If your child has an IEP and your child is ‘A’ student and is in the top 90% on SOL’s they will not be allowed to take honor classes due to having an IEP

I think if your student is neurotypical this is an excellent school. If your student has an IEP, then you need to carefully watch to make sure it is being followed. Like all schools, it is hit or miss with teachers. The admin often does not give advanced notice when staff leave which can be difficult for students with IEP's.

Like all schools, it is hit or miss with teachers. Our sons have IEP's and we found that some teachers consistently failed to give our children the graphic organizers that they are required to give them.

My sons tenth grade dean told him that he needed to some times just suck it up and get it done regarding his IEP and diagnosis of ADD. Other deans have been fine. Hit and miss with SPED teachers as well.

No effort to try new ways of teaching a student with and IEP. Seem to just try a few ways and give up. Very focused on SOL testing which neither of my sons do well on. I have consistently asked that the school focus on teaching them to answer essay questions to prepare them for the SOL testing they require and it has fallen on deaf ears.

Good experience so far and my daughter likes all the teacher. Specially math teacher she had in 10 grade was extremely excellent and she performed very well in math last year of 2016-2017

I have had two kids go through Freedom. I feel that the high school adequately prepared them for college. My daughter was on the dance team and it was a great experience for her. Both the teachers and administrators were great.

Great school, I graduated recently. There are some faculty that aren't that great, but that's with most schools. However, overall, each department has at least a handful of amazing teachers (especially the history and math departments). Administrators are also wonderful and incredibly supportive of their students -- many of them made my transition from high school to college easy. By far one of the most spirited and kindest student bodies I've seen in a Loudoun county high school.

They care about out kids. Their grades and what they learn. They take time to explain things and will meet before or after school or during Study Hall. They CARE!

We LOVE Freedom. The staff, facility and education is top quality. Our Daughter is in Honors Classes and getting A's because the staff cares about out kids. The new facility and equipment makes this school superior. Happy Kids....great grades...happy parents.

This school is horrid. The staff is unbearably rude and I'm not even going to mention the math department and their lack of knowledge for the subject it seems like. My first child went to this school and I am moving before I will send my next child there. no way!

New principal is really making a difference, school academics are improving dramatically as evidenced by state exams and SAT scores coming in. Great atmoshphere and school spirit.

My two children are faring well in college, thanks to the academic program of Loudoun County. They are each placed in upper level courses in both English and Math, even though one child did not place as extremely high as the other in SATs, they are each holding their own and doing great! We experienced Freedom High School from its formative years, and saw the natural negative human reactions to any changes that the principal made, but if you open your minds to it, the changes are based on founded reasons, and not to be taken personally against the principal. Teachers should offer extra credit in order to engage the students into studying the subject material, but please note that extra credit is often not offered in college classes. Suggestion for the Guidance Department to filter in topics of career choices on an every day basis, so these students may be more certain of their academic paths if pursuing college vs. technical paths.

Clean & new building but very poor academically. Not challenging at all. I feel that the kids are not being prepared effectively for the cut throat competitive world outside, that they have to excel in, in order to succeed.

Freedom High School has poor leadership and a very poor math department. Most parents are so frustrated that they have contacted the Principal and her boss but there has been no change.
