This school is awful as a child i felt like i was being singled out by some of the teachers and students. The teachers never did anything. I dont know if it was because of the racism problem in this town or the staff just didnt care. When i was hit by other children a long time i ago i was the one who got punished i couldnt play. I spent nights at my house crying and crying it didnt only hurt to be made fun of by literal children but adults as well. Its safe to say this school contributed to my awful childhood and as someone who doesnt even want them i wouldnt let my children come here i wouldn't allow myself to be hurt the same way this school hurt me. Im not saying this school was not ok but for the sake of being honest just take this review as advice

This school is incredible and is full of teachers and staff who truly care for your children. My daughter is a rising 2nd grader and has loved every day spent at this school. There are many opportunities for family engagement. I can’t say enough good things about Botetourt!!

Our daughter was mentally abused by one of the teachers. The school was informed and nothing was done. My emails were not even replied to. The teacher is still there and continues to do harm to other students. My daughter saw her at Walmart one time and almost fainted of fear. It is very sad.

After moving from a different state my daughters were very behind and within about 2 months they were caught up on over a years worth of knowledge that they had missed from the different standards at their last school.

The staff is always encouraging the students to have strong character and rewarding the students when they show those good characteristics.

Posted: December 29, 2018

There is always open communication from the principal, teachers, staff, and parents.

They have so many different programs set into place to help those with learning differences. If a child is struggling the teachers and staff will give you the right tools to work with at home while they continue to work with the students at school.

The staff does not tolerate bullying. They handle bullying as soon as it comes to their attention. My daughter was bullied on the bus one morning and it went from the bus driver all the way to the school principal and was handled that day. I didn’t know it had happened until after the situation was dealt with and changes were made to ensure that student was moved away from my daughter and understood what they did was wrong. The other parent was also informed immediately.

This school is amazing! They really do go above and beyond for their students to make sure they have a safe and encouraging learning environment. They take the smallest of your concerns very seriously and make sure your child has everything they need to succeed in school.

The amount of homework is reasonable and really helps the students practice what they are taught daily.

This year not getting same feeling as last year. Teachers and staff are not acting so concerned about concerns. Not sure what happened over summer everyone switched around unorganized. Website from last year. Let's just hope they get it together. Kids are all of are futures. My child is not the same ready lets go at all.

I love this school. My child is in first grade and started this school in kindergarten. Her reading level was a little off when she started first grade and was reading at a preschool level. Now she is reading at a 3rd grade level. The teacher are wonderful and respond to ever one of my request, letters and emails. They greet you at the door and don't have a problem if you want to come and visit your child during school. I love this school!!!
