you need to go here to understand to be greatful for the education given at this school. they have and offer more classes than any other high school in the county, the teacher are well rounded and do whatever they can to help students, many programs and clubs are offered here to give students different experiences in careers and hobbies. The diversity in the school is atonishing, the school is over 50% Hispanic and they are all treated with respect and equality. The arts programs are amazing with tons of awards and achievements to back them up. Well rounded students and have helped students get to 4 year university's such as Harvard throughout the school. The school is not crowded with bullies. In this time and age, bullying has not become cool thing to do in high school so nobody does. Everyone is treated with respect and the schools student body does their best to get everyone involved. It's a wonderful school and a great town to raise a family

I went to MVHS and it was the most horrific, terrible worst time in my life when if should've been the best time in my life. They don't care about the students, it's over populated with gangs and bully's. The teachers don't teach you anything. Do not send your children here!

Mount Vernon High School is a very diverse yet academically rich institution. The opportunities for all students to pursue post secondary opportunities is the best we as parents could ever ask for. They have a proven track record with many students attending prestigious four year universities throughout the country. We couldn't ask for a better school in our community for our kids. The teaching staff is very accommodating, consistent and caring. My child has had a wonderful experience here! We are proud to be Bulldogs!

Mount Vernon does a great job preparing the students who choose to go to college for the challenges ahead. I am amazed at the number of AP classes offered. The music programs are outstanding. High School is what each student chooses to make of it but MVHS gives their students every opportunity possible.

As a school, I'm really pleased with it. Some of the students have issues, like not really caring about academics, but the school itself is good. The teachers listen and actually care, and are good at what they do. Our art/music programs are great, though they could really use some more funding considering how much they've grown. Academically speaking our classes are fairly challenging, though sometimes it's hard to find the mid-ground between too hard and ridiculously easy, but that's just high school for you. We've got a great AP program as well, and we're a national AVID demonstration school. There are rough patches, but you find those in all schools, so really I think MVHS is pretty decent as far as that goes.
