I went to this school, 1st grade to 5th and it was such a great experience, the teachers were all so nice and the environment was very welcoming. Some rules and regulations they have seem unnecessary and it has changed a lot since they changed principals, but it is still an amazing school and everyone makes it very easy to learn.

My child has been in this school for 4 years and they have yet to impress me with their education. The school claims to be a "blue ribbon" school and claims to have a motto of "no excuses". Every year we have had a problem with a teacher that needs addressing. This year (3rd grade) they weren't going to teach ANY Science or Social studies. My child got 1 semester of using tech, did not teach Engineering concepts, (We pay for a levy to provide technology education and tools to our child to have it only used 1/2 a year?) taught very little social studies (they had four total writing assignments on historical people). The one lesson that could have been considered science was the skeletal structure taught during health week. The teacher was all about Math and English, worried about passing the state tests instead of learning. That is not a complete education. Very disappointed with the response we got from administration, promises of action and return contact to hear nothing back, we only ever receive excuses and empty promises to correct instruction with no follow through. Uniforms are expensive and not easy to procure while teachers dress how they want.

Their bulling policy is a joke, we have regularly (at least once a year sometimes more) have had to call the school or the bus system to have a bully dealt with and the school's response was lacking, the school on its own does nothing when children report to teachers that bulling is occurring, it takes a parent calling and forcing the issues be dealt with. One bully on the bus was dealt with by moving them behind the driver, then after more escalating the bully was eventually removed from the bus for one week. Bulling issues in the school are more often than not played off as kids just being kids and not actually dealt with at all.

I am so glad my daughter only has to go to this school for 1 year. It was only due to the boundaries changing that she did not continue to go to Thompson Elementary. I absolutely would not recommend this school. I have talked with the principle about how stupid/inconvenient the "check out early/check in late" procedure is. Now while I never had any issues with the intercom into the office at Thompson or Spanaway Middle or Lake Spanaway High, Evergreen insists on locking its intercom system. Instead they want you to use a QR code to check in/out, then call into the office. While I want my children safe I don't understand why they are the only school to make such a hassel for parents. They definitely should not be ranked the best school. Not all parents in this area have phones or have phones that can scan a QR code. I tried to explain that to the principle and have talked to some rude main office staff about it. They said its been like that for years, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed. Had I known that Evergreen would be so frustrating with simple things like this I would have gladly moved my daughter back to Thompson. Plus why do the required uniforms? I can understand middle schools, even high schools due to gang activity but an elementary school, really?? I'm counting the days until she's done with that school.

Excellent!!!!! We LOVE Evergreen. My daughter came from a year round school that was not effective - her reading was not at the level she was supposed to be at and her math grades weren't great. Coming to Evergreen has been the best for her self-esteem and her grades. She's now reading a level ahead of the standard and she UNDERSTANDS the math she is working on. The teacher's here are FANTASTIC.

Both my daughter's second grade (Mr. Kitchen) and third grade (Mrs. Brimhall) teacher have been absolutely wonderful. Communication is top notch, they care about all of their students and they want to help them thrive. I can't say enough about how wonderful her teachers have been.

My second grader is thriving. We moved to this district because of the way they care about the children. Every teacher I've came in contact with went above and beyond to make sure these kids achieve greatness.

Mrs. Taylor has a ton of patience and is passionate about students. My step-son went from hating reading to reading on his own and getting excited about the stories.

My children have attended Evergreen Elementary for 3 years. The teachers and staff work really hard to make sure that my kids are being responsible for their own learning. When they say No Excuses they mean it, but it is a good thing for them to realize their really is no excuse for them to not learn.
