The work is self directed. The teachers are not however used to dealing with kids at either end of the curve.

Resolutions have occurred between parents. The teachers have been of no help and do not have up to date training in this area.

Ok, but not what would be hoped for given the fees. Teachers by and large have little education beyond their Montessori certificate, and so do not know what they dont know.

The kindergarten teachers and the 9-12 teacher are excellent. The 6-9 teachers seem to lack maturity or good communication/conflict resolution skills. One of them often comes across as impatient and discourteous.

Bullying or manipulative behavior is not seen or ignored, as there seems to be little supervision on the playground. 6-9 teachers particularly have favorites.

The school is teacher governed. In practice this means the loudest and most opinionated wins. They dont stand up to each other; disagreements are not well moderated.

There is no homework for kindergarteners, which means that they get the down time after school that they need.

Everything is coordinated to run very efficiently, and the teachers do a fantastic job of staying organized.

The one regret of moving was having to leave what is now Montessouri at Samish Woods. It one thing to have teachers and and environment that encourage discovery, but also inspire a child to discover and learn themselves. Our daughter was always motivated and excited to go see what was in store the next day. Some of the closest relationships she has are still at that school.
