This school is a joke. Ive contacted the counselor multiple times to make a plan of action for success and have never heard back. The ratings are low and its for good reason. Three times my child had been accused of some outrageous things and then it be a mistake but not apologies from the staff to my child. There are definitely some teacher that do really care and I dont want to discount them.

This school has been a nightmare for my grandson. His shoes have been stolen, his lunch has been stolen, he has been hit in the head, he has been kicked, he has been bullied almost daily. The staff has been unwilling or unable to protect him at all. if you have a choice don't put your child in this unsafe environment.

Honestly, a great school a little rough around the edges with students but they are overall nice, great teachers, one science teacher is verbally abusive which is a downside but you can switch classes if needed, school is really nice all brick, great sports teams, overall a good school, all teachers are very supportive too, the school is very prideful in their avid and leadership classes and asb is great!

The children are disrespectful. I worry about the leadership coming from the adults on the campus. Ive had poor experiences every visit. Sad.

Witnessed a girl bullying another girl during passing time. Watched a boy act like he was going to throw a basketball in my face...I was a visitor trying to register my child!

Office employee J.C. is rude and dismissive. Shes not leading by example-no wonder Ive witness students speaking awful to one another.

This school doesn't really deal with discipline well. Students here are all disrespectful in school and outside in public.

If you're child attends Illahee make sure theyre in band because Mr. Hazenburg is excellent. The office staff isn't really friendly and if you can get a meeting with a principal/vice, than you are lucky. There are bullies but that can be felt with between child and parent. The cafeteria gets gnats and flies pretty bad that is one of my biggest complaints. If the faculty and admin could focus on character they could have something really great on their hands.

Poor leadership and uncontrolled students. The grading system makes no sense. The sports programs are good.

This school is fantastic! The teachers are really supportive and attentive, there are strict no bullying policies, and the school spirit is through the roof. Truly an amazing school I'm so sad I don't get to come back next year. But, once a brave always a brave!

My daughter is in their special 5th grade program for which we are proud to be in. She has wonderful teachers who have compassion and care for their students. She loves the school and her teachers and she enjoys coming to school everyday. The school has excellent extracurricular activities too. It has a good mix of academics and other activities. I love their current grading system which is standards-based. We as parents are actively involved in our child's education and are always in contact with the teachers regarding her school activities. Overall, this is an excellent middle school in Federal Way.
