This school was horrible. The teachers were rude and the students are problematic. The counselor and principal are ALWAYS in a meeting every time a student tries to talk to them.

It's not a very good school, it should probably be shut down

At Brompton, homework is given at excruciatingly excessive rates. The excuse given for this was a belief that it would prepare me for high school and generate healthy study habits, however, after taking getting a 4.0 GPA and taking 4 college courses, (2 AP, one through the Parkside PAC program, one through the KUSD-Gateway Technology partner program) it is exceedingly clear that this is not the case. Project-based learning is not an excuse for believing that a student's free time should be dedicated exclusively to school.

Teachers at Brompton exist on two drastically different points on a spectrum. Teachers range from those that work to give students real-world experiences that they can apply in the future, to teachers who degrade students for asking questions. Although all teachers claim they care about their students' education and well-being, few actually do so in practice.

The administrator of this has shown to be ineffective in dealing with complicated situations and often takes the path that looks the best in the eyes of the district. Instead of listening to students' testimonials, she chose to ignore what students said and told parents that a gun threat never happened.

One thing that Brompton does do well is providing help and support to its students with disabilities. This can be attributed to its smaller school size which allows the staff to work with them 1 on 1 instead of being forced to ignore them due to limited resources.

It would be one thing if the teachers at this school simply ignored the bullying that took place at Brompton, but many teachers actively engaged in it.

Brompton teachers and families are excellent. This feels like a small school. There is one class per grade. It is K-8. My child's teacher cares about his academic success and fostering good citizenship.
