USS Midway 1

The midway is a historical floating museum. Make sure you block out several hours to walk around this three story ship. The Midway was decommissioned in San Diego on April 11, 1992 and remained in storage in Bremerton, Washington until 2003 when it was donated to the 501(c)3 nonprofit San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum organization. It opened as the USS Midway Museum in June 2004, and now permanently resides in San Diego. Each level has informative plaques describing what each thing/area was used for and what daily life looked like on the ship. On the top, they have several planes and a helicopter that reside there as well. This is definitely a fascinating museum that you don't want to miss.
