Monterey Bay Aquarium 1

We bought the annual pass, which meant we could go as often as we liked! Great for little kids, not bad for teens, nice for adults. They offer member-only events throughout the year, as well as special events that members can get in free or visitors can just buy tickets (Cooking for Solutions is one, where they bring in local restaurants and vendors, and visitors can wander through the aquarium and outside on the deck, tasting food. One year when we went, Top Chef Richard Blais was doing cooking demos). Conveniently located downtown with all the touristy shops, the aquarium is easy to find, though parking is not! There are some spaces that can be found along the walking path, from which you can see the sea lions, but those spots are usually full, especially on the weekend. Try to time your visit for when they have a diver in the giant tank; that's always neat to see!
