Emerald Isle 1

Even though I currently live in Virginia I still try and make it back to Emerald Isle beach at least once a year. Mayor Eddie Barber gives a great description of Emerald Isle on the town website. "located on the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina between Morehead City and Jacksonville. We are a vibrant beach community with a population of approximately 3,700+ year round, and a summer population exceeding 35,000. We have a beautiful beach with crystal clear water, sandy beaches and beautiful sunrises and sunsets each day. We have outstanding restaurants, unique shops and businesses that reach out to our tourists and residents." Emerald Isle is close enough to multiple bases that you could go for a few hours or make your trip into a weekend adventure. My 4 year old daughter had a blast the last time we went to Emerald Isle and we were lucky enough to have almost an entire beach to ourselves.
